cjam93 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Hey guys so I am redoing my texas rig rod and I want to go to high vis braid just because it gives me more confidence, and I have not been doing to hot with worm fishing, so whatever I can do to feel better about it the better off Ill be haha. I will be throwing into alot of laydowns and "sawing" the trees when fishing the worm out, or hopefully when fighting the fish out. So I am just wondering if you guys would suggest copolymer or fluorocarbon for it? thanks! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted June 21, 2014 Super User Posted June 21, 2014 I've got both, but I use copoly 95% of the time. I have more faith in it, fewer unexplained breaks, etc. With Fluoro you have to be vigilant in checking your line often. If you have the money try some of both, only then can you really decide what you'll like best. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 21, 2014 Super User Posted June 21, 2014 Fluoro leader material instead of filler spools. It's a harder line. That's not saying you can't use regular fluoro. Works just fine. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted June 21, 2014 Super User Posted June 21, 2014 Where you're fishing in wood cover I'd be using fluoro. I do like a co-poly mono when fishing more cover free environments, especially on or near the water's surface. oe Quote

Super User ChrisD46 Posted June 22, 2014 Super User Posted June 22, 2014 First I would try P-Line CXX 12lb moss green color for $8.00 ...If you don't like it then you could try Sunline or Seaguar fluoro in 15lb but you will be looking at 3X the price for a spool . The flouro leader material is a good idea - but your looking at an on-line buy as no stores usually carry flouro leader material . Quote

Walmart has plenty of it on the shelf as well as Dick's Sporting Goods and BPS Quote

Super User ChrisD46 Posted June 22, 2014 Super User Posted June 22, 2014 News to me - I never see flouro leader material in the fishing line section at either Dicks or WM ... I'll check again more closely . Quote
Frenchman83 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 X2 For Seaguar red label. I use it in 15# for jig and T-rig applications. 1 Quote
ABW Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 X2 For Seaguar red label. I use it in 15# for jig and T-rig applications. X3. Red Label is extremely easy on the wallet, and it works well for me. I also use it in #15 for jigs and t-rigs. Quote
