Oh and dont over think it...do what YOU do

Can't say that enough. Tourneys are exciting but try not to let it rattle ya. Just go out there and fish how you normally would.

Careful...they are addictive

Oh and dont over think it...do what YOU do

I remember my first tournament, never even had a bite :)  Went on that year to win back to back tournaments, back seater of the year, rookie of the year, and 3rd place overall in the bass club, I was 16 that year.

Fish what you're comfortable with, tournaments are no time to try to learn a new technique. Pay attention to what your cousin is doing. If it's working then try something similar but until then try something different to help speed up the process of figuring out what is working. Enjoy the experience, it's extremely addiction to some people.

My first tournament was awesome!! Finished like 47/50 but it was so much fun! They're a great time. Learn what you can, try and find a pattern, and if all else fails just go fish!

Tuesday night and Thursday nights here...  If I could afford the Friday night one I'd do it also.  Already secured a championship spot on one lake and one spot out on the other- Just need to catch one over (18") on a lake that has no grass in it.  Addictive is an understatement!

Remember my first tourney also.  Couldn't get boat off trailor was so excited.  It was a two day event.  Finally motor toter broke so boat came off trailor!!!  Ended up coming in second by a couple ounces.  First day we were fishing shirtless and looking for more to drink.  Second day was so cold we couldn't find enough cloths to wear.

Good Luck
