Which generation? The originals were rumored to be built on Shikari blanks. The latest version made for really good moving bait rods as the tapers were pretty slow for a fast action rod. The handle length is kinda short too. I would stick to the Crucial for bottom contact myself

I used to own two Kistler Magnesium TS, "very good" rods but not my taste, I didn´t like the feel, hated the bumpy handle and my beef were those Batson reel seats and guides, but that´s me;  if my hands were a little big bigger for me to grab the handle comfortably ( it was worse in the crankbait series because the blank was glass-graphite component which made the blank bulkier ) probably the other two ( the feel and the Batson reel seat ) would have cared less. Theoretically that series compited with the IMX of GLoomis. I do have the to mention that the blank behaved very well ( almost like an IMX ).

o i was thinkn it was a fuji reel seat

Nope, in the Mag TS the reel seat and guides were Baston. Many reels had issues with that reel seat, the reel didn´t sit properly, even tightened the reel still woobled from side to side.

In later models of the series the reel seats were changed for Fuji, check that detail if you are able to see the rod, if the reel seat doesn´t have FUJI stamped on it then it´s not Fuji, it´s Baston.

I have the TS drop shot rod and like it very much, I've caught several fish over 6 pounds on it and have no complaints for what it does.

I wouldn't buy any of them, every year they used a different blank because they originally were using Batson blanks but decided to make more money and used blanks from other sources. The biggest knock on them is depending on the year a 7'MH-F could be a decent rod for jigs and worms and the following year the same rod had a different taper that was better for moving baits and you often see these for sale on ebay.

Geez...

So much baggage, pick a differnt brand. Specifically take a look at a couple of our sponsor's gear:

Pinnacle & Okuma.

I really liked my first Kistler Mg from 5+ years ago with a grey blank. It broke and I replaced it with a newer version of the same rod, with a green blank. The first one was lighter and more sensitive, though the current one is fine for moving baits.

RW's comment on the baggage is valid. But I will say the KLX line is pretty sweet.

The 1st two generations of the mag and helium built on Shikari and Batson blanks were pretty good, but they did use cheap ceramic guides and bulky by today's standards. The latest rods utilize better fuji parts, but I wasn't impressed with the unknown blanks. Kistler really stepped up with klx rods and nfc blanks. Best affordable production rods being built right now Imo.

I have seen many who have tried these rods and found the same models to run different from one to another, not a premium rod. I used to supply BPS Bionic Blades for my customers and found them better. I personally would by a St Croix Premier and have a better rod, But when I got serious about personal rods, I have found the Avid and the different Legend series to do anything I could ask and do it better than the rest, so why chance it, I won't until I find a reason to, for 20 years that hasn't happened with St. Croix, I have never been disappointed. :thumbsup1:
