Which rod would you recommend for flipping light to moderate cover with a slither rig and working football jigs. A Duckett White Ice 7'3" Heavy Pete Ponds, or a Powell Endurance Flippin' 764 FLIP. Both are the same price, so that is not an issue. Thanks for the help

I've got rods by both brands. Got 1 duckett and 13 Powells for a reason...

Sorry, cant answer your question..but I'd like to know what is a "slither rig"?

I never heard of that term ( I assume it's for flippin plastics)

Just wondering

A slither rig is a large punching weight with a jig skirt attached to it. Made by Strike King

As far as powell vs duckett. I own both brands and the powell ratings tend to be on the lighter side compared to other brands. I own a heavy action duckett and itll pull a truck outta the mud!(not really). My powell rods are mh action and they seem more like mediums to me but still my favorite. Hope this helps

I use to own around five Powell Max and and four Powell Endurance rod's. I still really like Powell Rods and think they are great rods but I sold all of my Powells except for the Powell Max 703 and I couldn't bring myself to part with it. I replaced all my Powells with Ducketts for a reason. I now own 18 Duckett, 2-Ghost, 3-Micro Magic and 13-White Ice. They are the best I've ever fished with and I have fished close to every rod made except for Megabass, GLoomis and Airrus.

Nothing bad to say about either but I'd buy more Powell's before a Duckett.

both will do the job. Pick which one you like better in your hands.

I cant comment on the white ice but I have a few Micro Magics and Powell Endurances. I use to use all Ducketts but I feel that the Endurance is a more sensitive rod and has an absolute fantastic back bone. But dont think ducketts are bad rods they are very good rods I just personally prefer powells.

Those two rods are not the same or even close. The Ducket rod is a heavy power rod, the 764 is really like a mh. Powells 725 is more comparable . They make a 775 which is a beast.
