Hi I have a spare 6'6" mdhvy rod (I know it's pretty short but oh well) that I plan on being multipurpose and I need a reel for the same I was thinking something that is 7.1:1 or the like. I plan on using it for light frogging, flipping/pitching, jigs some Texas/carolina rigging I also plan on getting a heavy rod for punching and heavy cover frogging but I already know what I want for that. My budget is around 100$ I was thinking a pro qualifier. Is this good?

The Pro Qualifier seems to be the choice for that budget on here.

Arv lol I saw that! Also I'm about to go on a trip and I can only bring 2 setups I'm planning on bringing my 7' med fast baitcaster and a 6'4" (was 6'6" but friends little sis slammed it in the car door) for finesse stuff. I plan on using the baitcaster for everything else is this good? My only concern is jigs and frogs (not much slop so that's not the problem) everyone says you need heavy for frogs and jigs and stuff, but I think I like the med. I can use pretty much everything except big swimbaits and punching rigs which I haven't gotten into anyway, but I don't want to lose a fish because of a bad hook set I mean it's got enough backbone I think considering I've straightened a few hooks with it and I have 50# braid on it. I have confidence in it but now I'm kinda gun shy about it I guess.

It depends on the weights you're throwing for the jigs. I'll fish 1/8 oz jigs on a medium light spinning rod. As far as frogs, I don't think you need a heavy rod, but I don't know that I would go less than a medium heavy honestly.

The pro qualifier is a good reel, I've had one for several years now, and I like it. However, for 100 bucks, if it was me, I wouldn't blink twice... lews speed spool ss1, 89 bucks on TW.
