Today I casted out a lure and my 6'8 top water mojo bass snapped! Does any one have any info on the warranty? I just bought this rod for 110 bucks from bass pro shops less than a month ago! Thanks

It's going to cost you 20$ shipping to ship them the rod and they will charge you 20$ to ship the rod back and you'll get a brand new one if you use their warranty program.

The other option is just to go back to BPS and see what they say.

Try bass pro if you have proof of purchase... I don't see a problem

Cost my fishing partner $15.00 using St. Croix's discount shipping on the web Sight, but that was an Avid and only 2 months old, so It may have been cheaper,,, and Croix paid the return Shipping. They also offered an upgrade for a real good price, but he declined. I would go on line and call them, they will direct you to your options.

BPS would be my first choice, they are very good about this kind of thing.

Absolutely, they will replace it, as long as you have a receipt. The BPS where I worked usually don't even insist on a receipt.

Yep I got the receit... Can you return it to a different bass pro or does it have too be the same one you bought it from?

Any BPS will exchange it.

Take it to BPS with your receipt. You don't want to send it to st. croix. If you do, it will cost you $10 to send it to them (used to be $10 shipping label from their site, might be 15 now), plus a $20 check for them to look at it.

Try the return/help desk first, and if that is no good then ask them to page the manager of the fishing dpt. He'll help you for sure.

The rod I got is not really what I wanted do you think I could return it for a slightly longer 7 foot rod that is the same price and model?

I know st. croix will do it for you, not sure if BPS will. Doesn't hurt to ask. I had a st. croix eyecon break, and asked if I could switch to the premier instead (same price) and they said "no problem!".

Hum, might have to try that.... Thanks a lot for all your help!

The BPS by you guys must be much friendlier than the one by me. I had to take back a BPS Extreme rod last year that broke during the cast. They gave me all kinds of grief about exchanging that rod for the same rod. I figured since it was their house brand rod and less than 6 months old that it would be a pretty easy deal. They called a guy from the fishing department, who looked over it like he was trying to solve a crime, and thoroughly quizzed me on about when I'd bought the rod and what I'd bought it with. They kept saying they couldn't find any proof of me buying it searching my points card purchase history (occasionally forget it in the truck and not concerned enough about it to go out and get it). What confused me the whole time was that I was returning their brand of rod!

Anyways, rant over, if you take it to BPS I hope they treat you better than they did me.

I've taken things back to BPS on three occasions. Once it was delightful but the other two times were like hostage negotiations. Good luck!
