KVD 1.0 Squarebill, didn't really hit hard but this fish really choked it. First time this has happened to me with a crank.

I use squarebill cranks a lot and never had this happen...

I'm just waiting for it to happen, I bet its a chore getting those hooks out haha

Luckily I had some forceps with me and I was able to get the hooks out quickly, the fish bled pretty bad but swam off fine, my little brother was at the pond for the next 5 hours and it never floated up, hopefully it made it. If it didn't, the 20-30+lb blue cats won't let it go to waste!

I would have kept him for the frying pan haha....

I've had them do that with cranks and bladed jigs. The bite doesn't feel hard because they overtake the bait from behind and inhale it, so you really don't feel much. A lot of those bites are the ones where your bait just doesn't feel right all the sudden.
