Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 17, 2014 Super User Posted June 17, 2014 Have any of you guys used this jig? Do you like it? I bought two and they look good but the hook on them seems a little too compact. Like the shank is really short and the hook gap doesn't seem very wide... I fished them today for the first time and lost two good fish from them throwing the hook and I believe I got a good hook set, it may have just been a fluke and I'm not gonna give up on them just yet. whats yalls opinion on this jig? 1 Quote
martintheduck Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I was shopping for some jigs last week and saw these. I was about to grab a few, but just thought they were nothing special. I've grown fond of the Dredge style jig (siebert) makes and they have a comparable jig at my local tackle shop now. The eye is recessed and the owner deep throat hook is clutch in holding fish. I really don't see how this structure jig is anything unique. Quote
David D. Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I have seen far too many Strike King jigs with blunt tipped hooks right out of the package to ever consider using one. Stick with Siebert Outdoors jigs and you'll be much happier and catch more fish. 1 Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted June 17, 2014 Sometimes its nice to pick a few jigs up from a store instead of ordering them guys lol Quote
stk Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I second the dredge jig from siebertoutdoors. My hookup ratio has gone up considerably since switching to them, it may be coincidence or I just have gotten better at fishing jigs. I know what you mean about instant gratification, but I think the quality is well worth the wait. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 17, 2014 Author Super User Posted June 17, 2014 Haha its well worth the wait! I haven't ordered any personally but my friend gave me 2 he got from siebert and they are great... But I like buying things from stores occasionally when I stop by Quote
Zach P Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Even though I'll pretty much only use Siebert from this point forward I have heard good things about the DB Structure Jigs. Quote
CTGalloway21 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 no way I am paying a premium price for SK jigs when I can get Dirty Jigs or Siebert Jigs for less. Quote

SJex Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Doubt the hook is the issue, they use Owner Cutting Point hooks on the Structure jig. They should be extremely sharp. Quote
