Balshy Fishing Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Today I got a pack of Z-Man, large floating worms. They're the ones with the rage tail type end, how would you rig that and get the best success with it? I'm asking as far as hook, etc. Also, I got one of these chameleon Yo Zuri jerk baits that floats....is walking the dog the best option for lures like this? It's pretty sweet, I must admit. Quote
speed craw Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 A good 4/0 hook set up for texas rig worm . Those might even be a deadly carolina rig setup. I tend to be more aggressive with a floating jerkbait. I have gotten some nice reaction bites near or over brush piles . Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 So you just throw it towards structure? I'm a bank fisher, I don't have a boat. I've just been throwing out towards the depth a little and bringing it back it like I would a frog. Quote
PersicoTrotaVA Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I got those in my box as well. Gonna use them on the Freedom Zodiac Jigheads that came in the box with them and shaky head as well. Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 They sent me a shovel head jig, it's pretty nice. I just need to figure out the best way here. Quote
Balshy Fishing Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 So t-rigging is the best option here? Quote
Brocephus Fishing Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I like fishing those Z-Man worms on a shaky head or behind a Carolina rig, especially love em on a shaky head. However, don't underestimate the power of a C-rig from the bank and/or in shallow water. They can be deadly around structure. Just use a lighter weight on it, say a 3/8, instead of a 3/4 or 1 ounce and be sure to not use a real long leader in the shallows as those Z-Man worms will float. Quote
