Midgeman Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Anybody know if you can convert a tapered jig head mold from Do-It to a weedless version? I want to use a single wire guard, can I tool it with a dremel tool? Thanks! Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Are you looking to lay the single wire in or add to hole in head after? I think you can do it either way. Dremel will work. Quote
Midgeman Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 Thanks, Im just wanting to lay it in as I pour. Dremel tool and a steady hand you think? Quote
Triton21 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I have modified a lot of my do-it molds with a dremel. It takes a steady hand and only take a little at a time(easy to take out metal but hard to puy iy back). Lay your wire in the position you want and take a sharp tool and mark the mold. Work the mold until you have 1/2 of the wire on one side. Dip the wire in paint, lay it back in the groove, close the mold and you will have the exact alignment for the other side. Work that side untill mold closes and you are finished. Hope this helps. Kelley Quote

Triton21 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Did you get the modification done? Kelley Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Yeah did ya. I would love to see it. Quote
Triton_Mike Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 If you want to make a single wire weedgaurd all you have to do is put the weedgaurd in the mold and close the handles and smash an impression in the mold. no dremel too required. T Mike Quote
