Is it the Vendetta or Vendetta 2? If it's the Vendetta 2, that's a really nice rod. The Veritas is a nice rod, but it's been referred to as the "nicest POS" you can buy. It's NICE rod no doubt, but the micro guide version is just poorly made. Mainly the placement of the guides are off. Some are crooked, or the epoxy around them cracks. Or they use a TON of epoxy and it's dripped down on the blank or it's actually covering the eye of one of the guides. If it's the Veritas that doesn't have the micro guides, and you can visually inspect it for defects, I say go with the Veritas. I don't think the regular version had the QC issues the micro guide version did. I wouldn't even look in the LR's way honestly.

I love my veritas rods. I have three and a buddy has a couple. Never any issues. 7' MH micro guide!

I'm surprised..usually you and I seem to be on the same page on topics but I have to disagree on this one. I have all 3 and use 2 of the 3. The veritas makes up the majority of my arsenal with the vendettas slowly being weeded out with veritas. Veritas to me is superior to the vendetta (either 1 or 2) in components feel and now bang for the buck. Vendetta- stainless guides with zirconium insert total count on 7' 7+ tip < veritas titanium alloy with SIC inserts total count on 7' 9 + tip. 2nd point is probably more personal preference and my own experience with both but the vendetta reel seat and regular graphite blank < veritas exposed reel seat and nano tech blank. Last is bang for the buck, vendetta used to rule this category but now that most places the vendetta and veritas are the same price vendetta < veritas hands down. I would say this even with the $15 price difference for $64.

As far as the crooked guides and epoxy I think every manuf. has some flaws regardless of cost. A quick look before purchase will calm any anxiety over flawed guides. If ordering from an online store then it will always be a risk that you may get one with something wrong.

Now as far as thE LR ( mine is the shock version) I will totally agree. Decent rod for $40 but mine just sits in the basement collecting dust for now. I may use it for some river fishing since I'll need to use a rod that I don't mind banging against the river rocks.

The Veritas to me is certainly superior, but I can't recommend anyone buying one without close inspection of those guides first. We had a topic on here last year where Wally World had the micro guide version cheap. A bunch of us bought them, only to get crooked or cracked epoxy on the guides. So if you can buy them at a local store where you can inspect them, then certainly get one. The regular Veritas doesn't have as many QC issues though. When he said Wal Mart I didn't know if that was online or in store. The V2 is nice, but if you can get a good Veritas then that's the way to go.

I have two vendetta v1s. Caught a lot of bass on em and have had no issues. I have noticed they are not as sensitive as my daiwa team d or *** though ...

They V1 and 2s are good rods. I had a V1 I really liked for crank bait fishing.
