Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 No doubt. They deserved it. Miami was just tired and worn out. Shows you how hard running for a three peat really can be. If the Heat didn't win it, I couldn't pick any other team than the Spurs. I've got nothing but respect for Pops and his team. Classy group of guys right there. Already looking forward to the media frenzy that's going to happen tomorrow. Lol. Will make some interesting filler material between World Cup games and before football season starts. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 Miami was tired? Their big 3 is way younger than the Spurs big 3. They had a much easier run through the East. Tired, Lol. The excuses have already started. 3 Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 Only played through 4 straight finals, etc etc. Fairly sure the numbers say Lebron, Wade, and Bosh have an extra season of game time over the last four years. Nobody is making an excuse. I think I mentioned that I was perfectly fine with the Spurs winning. They deserved it 100%. What's funny though, if ANY other team had been on that run, them being tired would be a valid excuse. If it's the current Heat lineup, they're not allowed to be tired. 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 Spurs are and have always been a classy basketball Team.... They've shown that very clearly with this series..... The heat didn't even make it interesting.... Well done San Antonio !! Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 What will be truly funny is to see how many people run out to buy Spurs gear in the morning, claiming to have been a Spurs fan all their life. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 congrats to the Spurs (and a classy move by Dwight to start the thread) the Heat were "tired" really? lame excuse.. they were lucky to win it last year...down by 5 with what? 23 seconds left..and pull it out. Spurs won't make any hi-lite reel...but they sure are fun to watch play Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 They put on a clinic on how Team basketball is/ should be played , and of course Great Coaching! Their Energy just never quit, great bench, proper breaks for guys.... Sweet! Quote

That is ridiculous!! they both played the same amount of playoff series the last two years, and had the same amount of time off every year, the one thing the Spurs definitely had to do is play through a much tougher conference to get to the Heat the last 2 years, and after two years with playors much older, did it in the most decisive fashion in NBA Playoff history!!! Out scoring them in three consecutive games by the largest margin in the History of the playoffs!! Some will absolutely try and make excuses and ignore the fact, downplaying the dominance the aging Spurs displayed in the past 14 years,,,,not 4!! They did it together and I will assure you they didn't run from team to team looking for enough support to make them as players look good. They stick together year after year, and glue and bond working harder together than any other team to accomplish their goals as a unit!! Hat's of to the biggest display of class I have witnessed in the NBA in my lifetime,,,,,,that was so cool to see the lack of getting in the faces, chest pounding, fist pumping, trash talking, arm throwing, face making, display that so many other teams and player's love to promote. Just down to business this is the way to play, and what I get paid for, I am just doing my job,,,, treating their opponents with the utmost respect,,,,, an attitude you never will see from LaBro and the boy's!! Yes what a display of Class,,, Superiority, discipline, talent, a respect for the game and all involved!!!!! WAY TO GO SPURS!!!! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 Congrats to the Spurs. It took Pop a year to figure out how to beat the Heat and when he did, he made sure his team did it in royal fashion. It still baffles me all the hate for the Heat when plenty of other teams did the same thing but no matter, no need to derail another thread. The spurs play a different type of basketball and it is pretty t watch for sure and the combination of the coach and the GM getting the players that the coach wants/needs is huge. Now i just hope th sixers can follow the same mold with Hinkie and Brown. Now it is just sit and wait and see what if the spurs big three retires, do bosh and Lebron stay in Miami and then the draft. Should be interesting for a little while and then football starts. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 I rather think it took the spurs a season to figure out how to not loose in 30 seconds or less( last year) this year they just won by large margins... Yea, I like that philosophy Quote
