Moisture Problem

I have moisture on the inside of my screen. Sometimes it is worse than others. It is nearly impossible to see the screen. How do I get rid of it?

Not much can be done that I know of.  When I had one do that I put it out in the sun and let it bake out.  It helped a little.  Then I carried it in the truck and only put it on the boat when I fished.

I have done that too. Sometimes it clears up a little and then it is not visible again. I am not sure if I can take the front cover off yet. It is a Humminbird 561.

I'm guessing this can be taken care of without taking the unit apart. All you need is a ziplock bag big enough to fit the unit in and instant rice. You put the unit in and cover best you can with instant rice and then you change it out ever day or two. The rice will absorb the moisture drying everything out.

The 561 does not have a memory card door for access to the unit interior, so any moisture inside has gotten by the case gasket.

Rice won't be of any benefit. A trip to Humminbird is required.

It's worth a shot since as far as the post goes the unit is still working fine. If the moisture got in through the case gasket somehow, it can get out the same way.

I fished a tourney once where my boater pulled 2 bags of rice out of his truck at the ramp with his fish finders in them. I had never seen that before but he said it worked.

It works with all sorts of electronics. It's a whole lot safer that using heat to try and evaporate the moisture because it can damage components and it's cheap!
