Super User everythingthatswims Posted June 16, 2014 Super User Posted June 16, 2014 Since you will probably spot more fish from the bank than you would from a boat, make sure you cast past them and bring it back to them. Quote
SweepTheLegAU Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Remember there will always be some fish somewhere in the shallows, dont be afraid to fish only feet in front of where youre standing, I caught my PB (only 4lbs) but still my PB haha simply dropping a tube craw down a ledge only 3 feet in front of me where I had just seen the bass surface! Also using a carolina rig or just a heavy texas rig to drag the bottom is good to find structure like depth changes grasses or other types of cover. Ive had alot of luck around depth changes X2 fish all the way back to the bank and stop it right before you're lure comes back up out of the water. A lot of times they'll follow it all the way to the bank and they'll hit it right there, guess they think its going to get away and don't want to miss out on the opportunity. Quote
STPC Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Trust me, I know what its like to want to bring everything out with you. I'm limited to bank fishing also. Pack light. Only bring the most essential stuff. Your biggest confidence baits. Also never underestimate the bank lines, and shallow water. Iv caught great bass on bank lines in less than 2 feet of water. Be mobile and enjoy it. If one area doesn't get you bit, there could be fish 15 yards away. This is very true. I love a Zoom Horny Toad thrown straight down the bank, maybe 2' from the bank. I always thrown to the same place multiple times when doing this and it has produced quite a few fish for me. Works even better if there is any type of grass there too. Quote
