BassinNCstyle Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Is there much difference between the two bps reels? I am looking to get one for frogging/top water. Thanks Quote
slainempire Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 havent used a pro qualifier but im positive they are great reels. i have 2 bionics that are working quite nicely so far. one for cranking, one for jigs and big worms. Quote
Bank4Bass Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Have two pro qualifiers, great durable reels. Quote
BassinNCstyle Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 They are both on sale, twenty dollar difference. Just don't know how much difference there is in the reels. Quote
BadBassWV Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I've had both and prefer the Qualifier, IMO it is worth the 20 dollar difference. Quote
David D. Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 The Pro Qualifier is definitely worth the additional $20.... One of my favorite reels; even like it more than my Revo STX Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted June 15, 2014 Super User Posted June 15, 2014 The PQ hands down. 1 Quote
TorqueConverter Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 They are both on sale, twenty dollar difference. Just don't know how much difference there is in the reels. The PQ has a reel handle side aluminum side plate and breaking systems are different. Both braking systems are essentially dual breaking with the difference being that Bionic uses a new, weird system that applies brake tension to a tapered drum controlled by the dial where as the PQ uses a magnetic brake controlled by the dial. The PQ is the safe bet, but is also really boring. The Bionic is the unknown but the braking system is really neat. Quote
Mccallister25 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Go with the pro qualifier. I have no experience with the bionic, but my PQ is my favorite reel. Very solid. Quote
Jdm219 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 PQ for the win. I beat mine and i love how well it handles the abuse. I've had 30lb carp on it and it was able to handle the stress. Quote
BassinNCstyle Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Arrrgghh, PQ is on back order for ratio I want. Quote
David D. Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Arrrgghh, PQ is on back order for ratio I want. They will have it back soon. Which one are you looking for? And do you have any BPS near you? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Worth the wait, especially on sale. The PQ is such a proven performer and on sale so regularly I can't see messing with any other house brands. Quote
BassinNCstyle Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Went with the PQ even though on back order. Thanks for the input. Quote
