sparky241 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Yeah, I use to work on cars when they started adding more ethanol, it really caused some issues alright with injectors, sensors and I think catalytic converters Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 When I bought my boat after the 3rd outing my fuel pump became clogged from the liner of the gas line breaking down. I'm sure the previous owner used ethanol gas and it had been sitting awhile . The liner got in the gas tank and fuel filter. Had to change the line , fuel filter and then add a inline filter. After about 2 years of non ethanol gas being run I think I am finally safe from not having any more problem. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 14, 2014 Super User Posted June 14, 2014 It completely destroys 2 cycle, 4 cycle it's shameful how Goverments allow this crap to happen Quote

Up here there isnt anywhere to get non ethanol gas without driving for hours and hours Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted June 15, 2014 Super User Posted June 15, 2014 It's kinda funny that Marine motors these days are rated safe to run ethanol, but it can be iffy if the fuel lines feeding them are also. I once had the same problem with my 2004 Merc 150. Replacing the fuel line was a simple fix, but it cost me a day on the water. I continue to run ethanol gas, but I treat it religiously with Startron. Quote
