Hey everyone, I live about an hour from Toronto and though bass are my passion, our season doesnt open until the end of June, so I always look forward to pike to fill the void from May-June.  I've had a tough, but rewarding season so far, landing many fish over the 40 inch mark, including my new PB at 47 inches.  Hot baits this year for me have been the Imperium Ace worked quickly through the shallow bays, a jerkbait in the deeper, more open water and a big swimbait on the deeper shorelines.  Here's a bunch of my better fish so far this season.  Enjoy.

Pike like that are not common. You have a real treasure of a lake that gives up fish like that!

Nice! I wish we had those.

Be careful what you ask for - there could be some lost baits in your future as well as a loss of blood ~

 Good One ~

For me (I'm in a canoe) no matter where the hook(s) is/are, it's got to be - Hold the beast by the face with Boga grip while over side & in the net, insert Jaw Spreader, & Use Super long hook remover or pliers; otherwise I end up leaking . . . . . .

We have Gar that get the same size and at certain times of the year (now) are thick enough to walk across them!

I haven't lost any blood to them this year, but I have lost at least one Megabass 110!

Gar got nothing on pike in bait stealing category, and MB 110 wouldn't suspend very well with a steal leader  :eyebrows:

Where are you seeing gar super thick? I've got an arrow with their names on it.

Nice ones! Maybe if I can weed through all the muskies in my lake, I can catch a pike. (I know, it seems weird).

I bet those are a fantastic fish to do battle with - congrats on what appears to be an absolutely excellent season so far.

I caught my first ever northern on accident while targeting bass with a chatterbait.  Great fight and what a tug on that line!  I was surprised he didn't bite through my 15lb fluoro line.  Measured in at 28", not too shabby for my first I'd say
