Mr. BattleArmor Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Anyone seen this before? Been fishing for a while and haven't. Saw a fish flopping about 30 yards away, walked up to it only to find a snake attached to it. 2 Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 Years ago when I was kid and I fished off the dock in Holiday Park. Someone had a stringer of fish over the side. When they pulled up the stringer a snake was attached to one of the fish. It was crazy to see as a kid. Now grown up, many critters are always on the look out to catch fish. 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 I was fishing in Duvall county and had maybe 10 to 12 nice pan size bluegills on a rope stringer, and sitting in a lawn chair... Saw my fish moving about... Really gettin with it.... Walked down and whoa!! Big ole snake wrapped around trying to eat them.... I fought that snake for 30 mins... He would not leave! Well I won.... He left... But I wasn't going to touch those fish now... Off the stringer and into the lake... Half dead.. Snake won! That's a huge snake eating that bass.. Incredible photo... You should try and sell it! Big snakes in Florida ! Nice picture! Quote
Super User MCS Posted June 14, 2014 Super User Posted June 14, 2014 Water moccasins usually only have bands as juveniles and become solid as adults. They also have yellow around the mouth. Water snakes like pictured above have alternating blotches. Quote

Yeah identification helps, just wanted to inform u. Both species can be very aggressive. Google or a field guide can help sort it out. U hear in Putnam a guy got bit by a coral snake. Picked it up out of the road to save it. Chomped his finger. Didnt think it was dangerous. Idea is key Quote

Super User geo g Posted June 19, 2014 Super User Posted June 19, 2014 I have seen the same thing in Weston. If they can bite it it's a meal. It's amazing how big a fish they can eat. Fish are a prefect shape. Quote
