robster80 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 wantn to pick up maybe a few. r these worth the cost? or just stick to norman and rapala Quote
CJV Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Yes they are worth every penny. There durable and the colors are great. Quote
TrippyJai Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I only buy Lucky Craft jerkbaits and top water baits. I'm not really familiar with their crankbait line up. I do have a bunch of RC 1.5s which I bought on clearance. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 12, 2014 Super User Posted June 12, 2014 The fish will tell you what they're worth. I have some cheaper baits that catch and I have some more expensive baits that catch. I also have some of both that do not catch but Most of my LC Baits are very good. All except the Live Pointer - that one really wangs . . . A-Jay Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted June 12, 2014 Super User Posted June 12, 2014 The squarebills certainly are. I agree, the square bills are very good, I bought one and have caught a boat load with it but I'll just stick to my KVD 1.5's for now considering the price difference because they both catch fish. Super User Chris at Tech Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 All except the Live Pointer - that one really wangs . . . I never knew "wangs" was a verb. Just thought it was a plural noun 1 Quote
CJV Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I like buying LC because there good right out of the box they come with super strong hooks and they run true right out the box. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 The pointers are the best I have ever used and worth every penny.... Cranks? I use cheaper that work fine... But that pointer is the deal! 3 Quote

Great colors. Lucky Craft is my favorite hard bait company. Great color patterns, great designs, good hardware, durable and very consistent. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 The short answer is yes, Lucky Craft baits are worth the money. Quote

DTack Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 As far as their cranks go, I really like the shallower running baits. The BDS series in all sizes are good. The KVD cranks are a good buy for the money as well, just don't have as much confidence in some of their colors. Quote
tholmes Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 That's a question only you can answer. No doubt, Luck Craft makes top-shelf quality baits that catch bass with the best of them. But so will many others. Personally, I won't pay the price for new ones, but then, I'm a cheap old codger. All of the LCs that I have, I've bought used in the Flea Market section for half of retail or less. Tom Quote
robster80 Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 the ones i bought are the skeet reece mr and dr and a mini mr and a LC 1.5. Quote
Cgrinder Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Gunfish and Sammies are certainly worth the ~$16 tag. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted June 13, 2014 Super User Posted June 13, 2014 Much has been written about Lucky Craft lures and many bass anglers have developed a great deal of confidence fishing them. oe Quote
TNBassin' Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I've ticked a lot of money away in my lifetime, but it won't ever be on LC baits. I just can't justify buying those when cheaper options have yet to fail me. Plus, it's easier to lose a $6 crank as opposed to an $18 crank. Quote
BrianSnat Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 For that money they should not only catch fish, but gut, clean and scale them for ya. 1 Quote
robster80 Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 btd has em on sale for $11 i figured they wldnt get any cheaper than that for brand new so i fogured id try a few Quote
Michael F Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Well that depends, while they are built very well (personally I use to buy them), IMO I think they are REALLY over rated. I just stick with Norman lures for my plastic cranks and to replace the lucky craft R.c squarebills (Which is now the LC series) I swapped over the Luck -E- Strikes RC2 series. Quote
