skeeter1980 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Anyone using Serbert's swimjigs? How are they?I went to order some, but got confused.Do you make up your own swimjig?I'm not sure what to order, bands or no bands, not even sure what that means.I'd appericate any help.I use dirtyjigs swimjigs now,but Serbert's are cheaper. Mr_Scrogg Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 They are great jigs. Choose your Swimjig Skirt color. Band is referring to how the skirt is attached to the jig. Wire tied IMO is the way to go. No worry about skirt sliding down, or having strand pulled out easy. Quote
papajoe222 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Although I don't have a large selection of them, I do use them. You don't make up your own jigs, but you choose the components of the ones you want. Eyes, color, skirt, weight, etc. are options available to you. This gives you the opportunity to have a jig made to your particular needs and not that of the manufacturer. The band option is something that I'm a favorite of as rubber skirt bands deteriorate quickly when I add my favorite scent and I end up replacing the entire skirt when one falls apart. I would suggest going with the options that you want first and possibly experimenting with some of the others, or you could just keep it as simple as a color or skirt selection. That's the great thing, it's all up to you if you want. Quote
Frenchman83 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I generally choose weight, wire tied, and skirt color. I leave the heads up to them. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted June 12, 2014 Super User Posted June 12, 2014 Mike is an awesome guy to deal with. I have a few of his swim jigs and they are top notch. I had him make me up an assortment a while back and got a couple swim jigs and they are truly the best i've ever had. My advice, get the wire ties. He'll help you out if you need, shoot him a PM on here. Quote
Cgrinder Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The wire tie option is the best 25 cents you will ever spend. Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 What type of keeper do they use on Sieberts swimjigs? They have a lead barb on them for the trailer keeper. I've been Pm'ing Skeeter1980. Quote

FrankW Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 The wire tie does give a very secure skirt. Some wire ties I have used had the wire ends up and they caught grass. I prefer to tie my skirts on with braid and a drop of glue. I have found that the Seibert jig has very good skirt and trailer jags. The skirts are hard to install but once you get the skirt installed it stays in place with out the wire tie. Frank Quote
