BrokenBobber Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hey, Been reading this site for a while and decided to join and get some opinions on fishing chest nuts. One of my favorite places to fish has recently started growing these plants and I've fooled a few solid fish. I feel I'm not getting the bites I should be getting. What has worked best for me is a 1.5 oz tungsten weight with the havoc devil spear. The spear seems to get through the matted mess best. I've tried frogs but they only seem to work in the more broken up areas. Anybody here fish this type of cover with success? Thanks in advance! Quote
Big239Fish Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Change up your bait every so often. The weight sounds good, 1 1/2 oz is pretty much a go to size for matted messes. I like the Zoom speed craws (I think Zoom makes them.....) and the U Vibe Craws. Both work really well for me in punching situations. Also, I can't remember who makes these or what they're called, but they work really well also. Quote
