Super User everythingthatswims Posted November 13, 2017 Super User Posted November 13, 2017 Nabbed a 12lb limit in 2 and a half hours this evening. Water temps ranged from 42-47. Blade bait, ned rig, and a slow rolled spinnerbait. 18 Quote

tcal4404 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Braved the brutal cold this saturday in NY and was rewarded with my first smallmouth. Hit a jerkbait on the test cast lol. Chunky guy too. Brought my new scale with me but was too cold to open the package with frozen fingers. Caught a good size pickerel on the same jerkbait 14 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted November 13, 2017 Super User Posted November 13, 2017 when you have a 3 month old baby you don't see a lot of water.... when the wife says you should go fishing today YOU GO! nevermind that it was cold and wet.... i was in heaven yesterday, had the whole lake to myself and couldn't have been happier. also managed to land about 6 fish, all on the spinnerbait or s waver. great day! 14 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 13, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 13, 2017 If that's your first smallmouth you may want to retire! 2 1 Quote
tcal4404 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 haha angle makes it seem ginormous but i'd guess 2.5-3lbs. I lost one last week on a jerkbait when I was fumbling to try and get to a good spot to land it and took me down into the rocks and broke me off with the jerkbait piercing still attached...I was a little more prepared this time Quote
WDE Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Fishing by the light of the soccer fields to my back after the sun had fully set. Hit the t-rigged Yumdinger like a champ. Didn’t get weight or length, but probably close to 24 inches, 5 or 6 pounds and my PB cat—I’m assuming it’s a flathead or channel, but correct me if I’m mistaken. Shoes in pic for reference, I wear a size 10. 10 Quote
AndrewJ Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Well took dad out last time so it was mom's turn. Hate to say it, but she is a better bass fisher than dad is. We had a great day and the weather cooperated. Mom even caught her personal best 2.5 lbs smallmouth. Caught this trout while working out a knot in the line. Once I got the knot out, I was reeling in fast to make another cast and the trout just slammed my grub. 13 Quote
Dorado Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 @WDE Nice Channel Cat! What color did she bite on? Just curious. Congrats on a PB 1 Quote
WDE Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Black/blue! Thank you for identifying it for me. 2 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted November 15, 2017 Super User Posted November 15, 2017 Today was the last day for my boat in WV for this year. I'm taking it back home for thanksgiving and leaving it there so my brothers can exploit some fish this winter. My friend and I caught a bunch of bass today, we found a school of them on some brush in 40' and got to work on them with ned rigs! It was an interesting bite for sure, they wouldn't eat the 1/6 neds so we were using the 1/10th size and letting them fall FOREVER to reach bottom. It was a huge shift from the slow rolled spinnerbait bite we have been on for the past couple of weeks, but the water temps are dropping, and the lake is being lowered to winter pool at a fast rate, so the bass don't want to be on the banks anymore. 47 degree water today. 20 Quote

Super User Team9nine Posted November 15, 2017 Super User Posted November 15, 2017 I guess this is what a fish on a fall feeding binge looks like... Structure, breaks and breaklines. 22 Quote

ohboyitsrobby Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 My trip with the Aussies I met on here. Went so good. Got on em pretty good with the a rig. And these aren't even the half just the ones we could hold at the time. Great time with some great people. I'll post some more pics and talk more about it on another thread. 13 Quote

Turtle135 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Found an off shore hump with a log laying over the top. Sat there for over an hour just bumping the jig up and over that log. 19 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted November 21, 2017 Super User Posted November 21, 2017 It has been a very long time. I don't even remember when the last time I posted here. Anyway, I've been throwing nothing but swimbait for awhile and finally the hard work paid off. The first hudd fish of this season not very big tho just about 4 lbs. 10 3 Quote
