Looks like you were close to getting an eye like I did the other day. Would've been the same side eye as mine...lol. That bass was really lucky you missed it. ? 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 30, 2017 Super User Posted October 30, 2017 First ever fish on a glide bait. Skinny fella but still pretty awesome. 15 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted October 30, 2017 Super User Posted October 30, 2017 Those fish are freakin' awesome! I still haven't gotten to chase any clear water spots, can't wait until I do! In VA the only place with big spots is muddy and full of grass!?!? 1 Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted November 1, 2017 Super User Posted November 1, 2017 Hadn't gotten the boat out in a while, but I finally have my college things at bay and had some free time this afternoon. Water from the river had pushed down into the lake with recent rains, 48 degrees at the ramp! Found some 55 degree water and got to work slow rolling a spinnerbait 17 Quote

RichF Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Last weekend in Northern NY was incredible. These were my biggest five of a 70 fish Friday with my dad. Just under 20lbs and Dad had 18.5. We fished ABA early bird tournaments Saturday and Sunday which were even better. I'm at my max for pics so I'll have to make a separate post. 18 Quote

WDE Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Found a quiet corner of a pond that’s never fished. T-rigged worms and wacky Senkos are nailing it. 14 1 Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted November 3, 2017 Super User Posted November 3, 2017 Best Smallmouth Bass I caught in October was this 16" pound and a half girl. Weather and life issues have kept me off the water since October 22nd. Hope to get one or more fishing trips in before Winter forces me into fishing hibernation. 13 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 4, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 4, 2017 Oh Lordy look at that. Is that a lake that you fish sometimes on a state line (hint hint)? 1 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted November 4, 2017 Super User Posted November 4, 2017 I'm at school at WVU, that is on Cheat Lake, which does touch the PA border at the dam. (I love soho too and I'll be there over thanksgiving ) Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 4, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 4, 2017 Heckuva bag of smallmouth! you cracked my code of hints with ease! I would think soho would be much better the colder it gets so that will be good timing Quote
hawgenvy Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Went tonight to the Horrendous Pads with my brand new flipping stick, a Dobyns Champion XP DC766FLIP that arrived on my doorstep last night. This fish was my only bite but it was a good one. I was impressed with the new rod -- much more sensitive than my other big stick. It was easy to pitch the hefty jig accurately and I was able to control the fight. The fish tried to wrap me around the leaves but I was able to lead her out of the nasty stuff nose first. Also, I think a heavy weed guard on a jig helps get fish out of thick pads. 17 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted November 4, 2017 Super User Posted November 4, 2017 Got in a couple hours last evening. Decided to fish the N. end of the lake closer to home. Its shallower overall, and weedier. The middle and south end is deeper and usually holds more quality fish and numbers, so I fish it more. So the bite was off compared to the last several trips. Could be the high pressure system. Could be partially that the lake was slick calm. Could be it was that part of the lake, although I caught my pb.in that area. Still caught 7-8. Still biting the 4 inch tequila worm .Nice evening on the water anyway. This was one of the better ones. 15 Quote
