Super User Jar11591 Posted December 19, 2023 Super User Posted December 19, 2023 @AlabamaSpothunter awesome man. Well done. Do most of your doubles come during winter? I remember last winter you were nailing doubles and triples on the A rig. 1 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted December 19, 2023 Super User Posted December 19, 2023 Thanks brother! Yeah I can't remember ever catching a two/threefer outside of the Fall/Winter. Down here as the water cools it seems everything starts to group up closer and closer together. A month ago I was seeing big schools of bait in a particular area, whereas now it's just a carpet of bait in those same areas. 4 Quote

I narrowly avoided skunk but I did get one and lost another boatside. My buddy got a nice one in his tracker right after I left the honey hole, haha. Took a friend up to a dam to fish shallow swift current with his fly rod after that and it just wasn’t happening . Got some cool photos tho, saw loons and eagles and even witnessed two loons in flight and before it all began the sunrise was nice from the deck TnRiver46, you totally live in Paradise. This is what I expect to see if'in St. Peter lets me through! 3 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted December 20, 2023 Super User Posted December 20, 2023 Bob, to be frank, if you're not passing through the Pearly Gates, then no one is. @TnRiver46: You have borrowed our loons for the winter. Take GOOD CARE of them and don't forget to return them come spring. Thank you. 1 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted December 20, 2023 Super User Posted December 20, 2023 Bob, you're already in Heaven.....having a tractor, acreage, and a pond is about as close to heaven as we can get on earth. Not to mention you live in one of the best states to live in. That said TnRiver46 has his own piece of heaven figured out quite nicely. I'd be happy with either one. 2 1 Quote

Mr. 46 fishes with so many other anglers, which tells me that he's a good egg. And all those 20" and 21" smallies tells me he's a good stick too. 3 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted December 20, 2023 Super User Posted December 20, 2023 I’ve been meaning to go on over and fish with Mr. River. One of these days if I’m allowed over I will make it happen! 2 Quote

Pat Brown Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Just getting over a reaaaally nasty case of COVID that ripped through my family and is lingering unfortunately. Haven't been able to get out much at all the last couple weeks but Jake is out of school for Christmas break tomorrow and we have....plans 😎😎😎 Happy to see folks catching em! I'm feeling a okay and ready to get back at it at my next opportunity and thankful to have my health back. 8 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted December 21, 2023 Super User Posted December 21, 2023 Finally got a chance to take my dad out again after a few weeks off the water, and we were fortunate to come across a nice mixed bag of LM and spots. Can't complain about an early topwater bite in December! Underspin did the most damage and they were eating it. Threw a Ned for a bit and ended up with this surprise. Good one on a senko Pops with a pretty spot. Fish have been eating well... Last one of the day. 23 Quote
Peacedivision Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 First dry day this week and the fish decided to cooperate. 16 Quote
thediscochef Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Man I haven't caught a fish since the 8th. I think I've had two bites in that time. Doesn't help to go through a breakup and start new meds. Whoever said I couldn't catch the broad side of a barn in Winter was right. I'm considering buying a single bass from my local pond shop just to remember what it's like 😭 Glad to see I'm fairly alone in this boat, honestly ! 2 2 Quote
Pat Brown Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Good one this morning before work! Jake just got home and after chores and snack we are gonna hit the bank! Tight lines this evening to y'all! 😎🎣 26 Quote
