I do too! That's what I wanted to say but I didn't want my BR friends to see how deep the red runs in my neck. I've got two straps and no tolerance for fools. Glad to know I am not alone!?

It would take 2 minutes tops to throw a strap on it, drag it out of the way, and be gone. I wouldn't launch and risk coming back to my rig being trashed. I'd just pull it out from in front of the ramp, and laugh all the way to a different launch.

Nah. Getting caught might cost a few bucks, but it wouldn't land ya in the pokey.

Found Off-Ramp Drowned?

Threw one of the little ultralight lures I picked up today out back for a few minutes to see how it runs. Topwater propbait, this little 11 incher seemed to think it looked good enough to eat. Followed it in twice, decided to give it small pops instead of a steady retrieve, swirled on it once, then struck. He missed it, and it took a few more casts to coax him again, but he nailed it the second time. Super fun little fight on the 6' ultra light casting and 6lb line.

Still a rough year for me size-wise. Fingers crossed for a big summer girl soon (and a break in the weather on my days off please).

You should watch the youtube channel "Adventures with a Purpose". This is a screenshot of what he saw on his live scope when searching for sunken cars.

@Aaron_H, the guys that were launching called the wrecker/diver I think. It was not warm enough to swim down and hook it up for regular joes

Got out this morning from 730 -11. Managed to boat 5 bass ,3on a buzzbait ,1 on a plopper and 1 on a frog as a follow up to a pair of plopper whiffs that weighed 4-3

Well sorry about no pictures tonight, although I remained true to my word. I fished for less than 2 hours, winds were not too bad. I think steady 12-15mph with gusts higher. I wanted to throw weightless plastics like normal when wading the bank, although with the wind I put a 1/4 tungsten on a 4/0 owner twistlock flipping hook. I caught three to four on a rage tail craw that has the rattle, color was black with blue flakes. The next bait to catch three fish was a bandito bug same color combination. I then tried a 5” ocho in ghost minnow but the overcast skies or lack of fish didn’t net me anything. I was now about to the reed islands again. The next bait was given to me by a member of the site @GaryH it was a bass pro shops June bug worm with a flat like paddle tail, sorry I don’t know the name of it. I rig it with the tail vertically and it has some really nice thump to it. I started working the flat in front of the islands, got nothing. I knew what I had to do since I caught a 4.22lb one out of there on Sunday. I started casting into the reeds deep into the middle of the island, it took a few cast but I eventually got a bite and set the hook. I knew that it was a good fish from the weight that I felt on the rod and how it loaded it up. The fish started thrashing and I l knew even more yet that it was a good fish. My conquest 844c mbr was up to the task with my 14lb sun line sniper. I got it out of the reeds and coming towards me and saw it and I was happy. The fish then charged me and tried going between my legs and all I could think of was when another fish put a hook into my ankles doing the same thing lol. I kept my composure and landed it, she was probably around 3.25-3.65lbs maybe a little more I held her in the water and made sure that she was fine. I was standing there in the water going how do I explain to my wife that I let the fish go. I didn’t bother weighing her because my scale was in my car 800 yards or more down the bank and another 150 yards from the beach to my car. She gave me the signs that she was ready to go, I released her and she swam off in all of her majesty.

I know why these big bass are holding up there, easy access to a all you can eat buffet of panfish and other things. Felt good to let her go. I even told my wife about it, I also explained to her about keeping the good genetics in the lake. It was a good day.

Quick trip to the old Pressured Pond ™ and I stuck this doozy on a hack attack pad perch in white.  By far the most productive week for frog fishing of my life and it's only Wednesday ?????????

Got quite a few fish to swat at it this morning with one take where I pulled to fast and then right as my time was running out, I did the requisite 'circle back to the area you got the most/best bite and hit it before leaving' and she hit it almost instantly.

I waited correctly til I felt her on there and then set the hook and in she came!

I think I might be getting addicted to this whole summertime early morning topwater bite!

This is not me. This is my fishing partner. We went out on the lake Monday evening. He caught 3 at a time twice on a Picasso Baitball Jr. Umbrella Rig.IMG_6579.thumb.jpeg.8309635f79b0aa1514b0abecc99e7b3d.jpeg

@Pat Brown is a hog snatcher. Congrats on yet another dandy Pat!!!

I had a heckuva good time myself starting at about 1:00 this morning. The LM were absolutely mauling my chatterbait. Dunno how many I ended up with, but I think I cracked the 30 mark. At one point I boated four in five casts to a little pocket. Every single fish had it choked, even the dinks. The half dozen or so that came off were because of the rippers tail getting balled up around the hook. Unfortunately, one of those lost was a really solid fish. It threw the bait the third time it came up and wallowed on the surface. Quality wasn't great for the most part, but the numbers of 1 - 2.5 pounders was sure there.

The king of the nightime world.

I found a bit of redemption for the lost big'n in the early morning light, with this long, lean, 5.85#. My biggest LM since I caught a 6 even, in December of 21. This one now sits at #3 on my all time LM list.

Boat docks with rock under them have been very good the last couple nights. Tonight's my last night of vacation. I'll be headed out for one last hurrah before going back to the grind.

Nice fish!!

I used to run short arm spinnerbaits a lot at night. The chatterbait replaced 'em. ?

@T-Billy: Next time you catch an Ohio LMB that long again, Tim, fill your pickup's bed with water and drive like the dickens to Maine. We'll let it go in one of the local bogs that fatten bass. I think a couple months should do it. Then, when it reaches DD-status, I'll put it in the water-filled bed of my pickup and drive like the dickens to Ohio, where we'll release it deep in a secret cove.

There might be a wee problem or two with my plan. Heck, let's give it a go anyway, 'kay?

Honestly though. I've seen it front to back probably 10 times in my life. Never gets old.

I hope you get back to casually besting my PB soon

LOL. The lake that fish is in has TONS of shad and gills. She was over 6 back in May, and will be again by November. She's got a big ol head and isn't bug eyed yet. She has the potential to top 7 if she makes it another year or two.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. ?

Maybe a bit overdramatic…a good numbers day with a lot of aggressive bass crushing a finesse jig, but the fish in the pic was about as big as they got today. Totaled 26 bass, and most all of them came from the deep end of the micro lake, just outside the shallow flat breakline. Made for a lot of action, but was hoping for at least one better fish in the mix. Lots of rain in the forecast over the next several days, so trips might be hit and miss.

SO I went out today around 3-4, got skunked and it started to rain, typical Florida summer. The fish are getting harder to get as the days get hotter. Now we are in the dog days, it seems like you have to change up your presentation ALL the time.  However, I WILL NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT! Had to work late, then I had a dinner I had to attend, a work function....got home and had to help my son, football practice starts soon, make him something to eat and then finally got out again to get my fish of the day. Exhausting day to say the least, but......

the streak must go on, fish for Wed 7/12. Off the old school Rat-L-Trap!

PS- If you look closely, you can see that bass pretty much always hit the head first.

I fished a local pond for 2.5 hours and caught 14 bass. I've never said this, but I think I had my new PB hooked for a few seconds. It slurped a wakebait and immediately took drag, shaking its head all the time. I crank up my drag to help set the hook and bass rarely take line. I didn't get the bass anywhere near my canoe because it took drag three times and never jumped, so I never saw it, but it was either the strongest bass I've ever hooked or the biggest or both. Upon reflection, I was in the perfect situation to land it: open water, super sticky hooks, and braid, plus I was facing the bass, which isn't always the case as wind can have me playing bass over my shoulder.

I did catch 15" to 18" bass, so they were fun. And I'm going fishing again tomorrow morning!
