Got out this evening finally, I caught a 4Lb fish finally. Scale says 3.96 but it went to 4.06lbs before it threw itself on the ground twice by shaking the fish grippers lose. I got a weight to lock and had my daughter take two pictures and called it good. My daughter caught 4 fish, I caught 10 more small bass and probably 10 small crappies. I had something bite me off with my ribbon tail worm. It was quite windy out there today but the weightless stick bait was the ticket for bass. The crappie and one bass magnet was a jackall tn50. I had a good day not bad for 2 hours.

Great pics too. You do a fine job documenting your fishing trips. I'd like to see what you could do with a boat. I'm guessing if @Team9nine had a boat, he'd be catching 100 bass per session.

Yeah if I had a boat it would definitely be interesting for sure, last summer when I had my kayak I could pull 30 fish in three hours or less on a heavily pressured place. The weird thing is that these bigger fish all come right out of where everyone fishes. I have caught 5 to 6 fish between 4-5lbs right here. Not 400 yards down the bank walking in the muck down the bank even though it sets up better. I think that it has to do with all the baitfish that hang out there.

I have a boat ? Local reservoir kind of sucks for bass, so I haven’t had it out in about 5-6 weeks. Just had trailer bearings all replaced, so its ready to roll. Some days it just seems like its more trouble than hitting a shoreline ? …and I’ve only ever had 4 100 bass days - lol

Even though I always fish from my canoe, I LOVE to cast from a shoreline, which is what I do every morning before I launch. It's easier to hook and play a fish standing than sitting. So, I understand your shoreline fishing @Jmurphy87 and @Team9nine.

Only 4? Look out! That means I only need 4 more 100 bass days to catch up to you!  ?

Fish a portage lake in Ontario for smallmouth. Like Maine ponds and bogs, some of those Ontario lakes are quantity and some are quality. Fish the former on a good day and you'll boat a 100 or more.

We had light rain and 15mph winds yesterday but I got out for a few hours anyway. Water was 69 degrees and muddy. Started out slow but I ended up dropping anchor on a little grass flat yoyoing a Jackhammer. Ripping it up and out of the vegetation was triggering bites and got me 8 bass.

Maybe someday I'll get a chance. I love seeing the pictures of the places you fish. I know it would be awesome, but that's a long way for this southern boy.

Well I didn't get another 7# bass but last night did produce a smallmouth, a mess of bluegill, and a tiny spotted bass. Smallie ate the same thing as the 7# from the other night. Smallmouth were never stocked by TPWD in this lake. Many anglers fish decades here without catching one - so to me, it's a significant occurrence and is still special even when they're not particularly big. To have caught three this year (and for this to be the smallest of them) is feeling really awesome.

I can't imagine catching that many bass in a day. I feel like I would have spaghetti arms after that, even if they don't get that big

I once had a pair of back-to-back 200+ days. I fished hard, pretty much from four in the morning to ten in the evening with four hours off mid-day to nap and eat. The most fish I caught on consecutive casts was seven, but I had several four and five caught in four or five casts and many two or three in a row. On the third day, the feeding frenzy continued, but mostly without me. I was worn to a nub and I was young then. They averaged a thick, hard-fighting 16".

A few hours into the first day, I stopped bringing them into the canoe. I'd simply grab the shaft of the Mepps treble hook, aim the points at the water, and the bass would shake free.

  I started off my fishing morning with a cup of coffee and a quick check on BR for motivational reports and latest techniques the fish are chewing on. In doing so I gotta say props to @thediscochef for landing two 7 lbers (cause it ain’t easy) and everyone’s posting a bunch pictures of of solid, thick bass. So armed with motivation from the previous day’s success I was greeted with overcast skies with a high of 75, down from yesterday’s 86 (it should be in the mid 90’s), a steady breeze out of northwest to keep things interesting and an incoming tide I headed out.

  And it was nice to be rewarded when the tide turned with a 5.2lb on a GYCB stickbait that sent her bulldogging through the grass before I was able to lip her into the boat and make my day.

  Continued good fishing all!

Awesome fish, and boat.......what kind of rig is that?

Had that scale for 20+ years, but finally had to upgrade to the one with clips.  It was a great scale.

100 bass in a day?   I'm thrilled to catch 100 in a month.   My automatic inflatable life jacket inflated last night.  I wondered if the rain would ever get to it.  It was soaking wet, along with a bunch of other stuff.  I brought it in yesterday.  I had it sitting in a bathtub along with some clothes, shoes ect.  This morning it was inflated.   I went by Cabela's after fishing today and got 2 recharge kits.  I didn't succumb to the bait monkey.  I went in, got the recharge kits and left.

I caught 12 bass today.  Two 3+ pound Largemouth and 10 spots ranging from dink to 16 inches.  I also caught one 9 inch Crappie.  Going back to my earlier post about the direction of Spots eyes.  9 of the spots were looking down.  I caught the one that was looking up on a Devils Horse.   The rest were on various bottom hugging lures.   Both Largemouth were on a t-rigged 6 inch Zoom trick worm.

"Bulldogging" is the word that made my heart race. They're magnificent when they bulldog through the grass, aren't they? I marvel how a five-pound animal can pull so hard.

Your smile, of course, conveys all ^this^!

Speaking of marveling, I marvel at the consistency of Woody B and Team9Nine. I've expressed this in the past and I'm saying it again, dang it. If any of you don't like it, well, come through the Intertubes and it'll be on like Kong.

Of course, instead of fighting, we could simply go bassin'. ?

Which is what I did again today ? Heavy cloud cover, almost no wind, and back to the same spot from yesterday, which is usually a big “no-no”, unless it’s a numbers lake - this one isn’t - lol. As expected, just a handful of bites, albeit from some chunky fish, on jig and Chatter. As soon as the clouds mysteriously disappeared, so did the almost non-existent bite.

The streak continues, got out before the weather turned for the worst. Rain rain go away!

This counts for Friday 6/23. This little bass destroyed my spinner bait.....ah well, that spinner bait got me 5-6 bass and 2 x 6-7lbs snake heads. I could not ask more of it. RIP.

Caught on another new setup too.

PS- I saw the ruler on the side of the rod after I released the fish haha.

Today’s report, Part 2: Around 8 o’clock this evening we had good cloud cover back, still no wind, but the start of cooling temps. Got an idea in my head, so grabbed a rod and set it up for fishing a topwater, a Splash-It in particular. Been a while since I’ve thrown a popper, but was reminded how much fun they are tonight. The trip ended when I lost the bait to a snapping turtle about one hour in, but not before landing 10 chunky bass, topped by a 4.5 pounder. Luckily, I’ve got a couple more duplicate baits hanging new in their package on the garage wall, so I’ll be pulling them out soon to check out that bite at a couple more spots with any luck, before the storms and rain arrive later this weekend.

Well, since I had to fight this out of the pipe (prob going to replace my line). I am counting it as today, 6/24 fish. Again, total ate my speed worm.

Have to admit, it was nice and quiet for about an hour before the down pour....good thing I drove tonight.

Was at the church pond at daybreak. Hooked this little guy on a super fluke. The hookset pulled him out of the water. I knew it was small.

Suddenly , the rod loaded up and to my suprise, I was fighting something much bigger. I loosened the drag slightly as it went by. It pulled out several feet of drag and came off… still had jr. hooked though…Whatever it was , It fought like a bass but it never jumped.

It was BIG, real BIG…

@N Florida Mike: Exciting!

@Team9nine: I used a popper the other morning too. In my youth, poppers were my main lure. It was fun to use one again and great to cast a lure than alights on the water rather than plops on it like a Whopper Plopper.

@Dominat0r: Keep up that streak!

@Cbump: I like your pre-tournament photos and I admire your dedication. Sleeping on your boat is hardcore.

@GreenPig, I can barely look at your bass when you wear your bloody mummy gloves!
