Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 12, 2017 Super User Posted May 12, 2017 Good one this morning -- 20", but kinda skinny (no scale on me). On a Green Pumpkin/Purple Siebert Fogy: 8 Quote
Will Wetline Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Bluebasser86 and Darren. don't want me to mention the name of the rig that caught this 4.89 lb. smallmouth so I won't. 11 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 13, 2017 Global Moderator Posted May 13, 2017 Nice! Almost the exact same size as the biggest I've caught on the rig that shall not be named. 2 Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Finally get to take a picture without the Huk jacket. That one had the length of a 5 pounder and the belly of a 3 pounder. Looks like the spawn is underway on Lk St Clair. Another swimbait fish. 19 Quote
jr231 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Best chance at a smallmouth like that depends on location. Nice fish 1 Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 I'll be honest it's not super tough to catch a 4-5 pounder right now. However in a few weeks it will be much tougher. 1 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 14, 2017 Super User Posted May 14, 2017 Aaaaand the topwater season begins for me...a not-too-bad one on the LC gunfish: 14 Quote

JG233 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Couple nice ones from last week. Caught these all day (about 20 total) the largest went almost 4 lbs: 17 Quote
WDE Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Felt him hit the squarebill a couple times and figured I was hitting something underwater. Eventually he caught it on the bottom lip. I think we were both a little surprised to say the least. 7 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted May 20, 2017 Super User Posted May 20, 2017 Thank You Sir ~ But you know how it goes - if I were tournament fishing, I'd probably be a dink magnet or someone else would catch them . . . . . A-Jay 3 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted May 21, 2017 Super User Posted May 21, 2017 Got on a few post spawners today on a local reservoir, caught them in water willows on a frog and flipping a jig, fun stuff! A school of bass came up chasing shad in open water and the only bait I had tied up that was even close to something one would throw in that situation was the frog, and on my first cast where the fish had been breaking, one actually ate the darn thing! Definitely a first for me and I have spent a lot of time on schooling bass. 14 Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted May 23, 2017 Super User Posted May 23, 2017 Some Monday night local tournament fun! 5lb gap between the other 11 boats and myself, had a blast and as of now I'm out of the red and into the black for local tournaments. (not that I actually think I can do anything but lose money by fishing them ) 19 Quote
