Fished today for 6 hours. 95% of the time I threw big swimbaits and 5% a swimjig. Caught a 3.21 lb on a swimjig.

817 cast with the Bull Wake and nothing. Bass didn't like the calm conditions.

Went to the dam on the ottertail river in minnesota. Caught 2 smallies on a wopper plopper and then threw some ball head jigs and got snagged.

Just 1 snag and i broke off and said i had enough of this so i put a bobber on with a ballhead jig with a berkley max scent flat nose minnow.

Threw it out into the current and let in bounce off the rocks and down stream. I caught a nice smallie with that setup, she fought hard, pulled hard and i got her in.

Get a load of this Bill Dance wanna be with that obnoxious hat :)

Bill was my favorite growing up, still consider a few of his signature baits favorites today.

Great fish, great diversity, really nice cat.

Throwing the swim jig lately, trying to get confidence in it. Seems to work good to me, finally tried to match trailer size, color and jig all in something more natural. I like to throw crazy color combinations here and there. This was a  dirty jigs 3/8 oz swim jig in Alabama craw with a 3.8 keitech in sungill. This is my sunfish, blue gill colors that I shoot for normally. Missed one caught a small one, the small guy adjusted my trailer a tiny bit and gave it some great action afterwards lol. Looked great in the water then I caught this other small one, 3.44lb not huge but ok. Definitely was a good day, not bad for 45 minutes. Have a good weekend everyone.

You shoulda seen him baby that cat in with 6lb line and a finesse worm. We drifted 300 yards by the time he got it aboard.

Then he caught an adult human by throwing a finesse jig.

My boy brought one in to weigh. He was bummed but there were adults that skunked.

Hahahah. He lobbed it to me to check out. I approved, and threw it back to him. Somehow the hook just stuck in his leg and the jig was just dangling there. @Siebert Outdoorsputs good hooks in his jigs!!!

Today was a good day. We went camping this weekend up near Tippy Dam in Michigan. I tried all around the dam and caught nothing. Then we went to the beach on Lake Michigan today and I tried fishing off the pier but also caught nothing.

Then just before heading home I tried little manmade pond (literally named Man Made Lake) just inland from the shore of Lake Michigan.

Finally got lucky. First fish was a little pike on a Mepps inline spinner. He shredded the tail feathers right off it.

After that I caught a little pumpkin seed on a swimbait the same size as the fish.

Then I caught my PB smallie on a square bill crank bait. He hammered it the second it hit the water.

Finally, just before heading back to camp, the largest rock bass I've ever seen hammered the whopper plopper.

Wasn't able to make it out yesterday. Went out this A.M with the intention of trying to stay out, but my back had other ideas. Just experienced some discomfort so I don't think I'll be fishing again for a while. Got a few bass in an hour though, nothing crazy. Just biding my time at this point! Was happy to make it out fishing though! :)
