@Bluebasser86 took me and my high school fishing partner out to a hot water plant lake, and we had a great day!!  He put on some great fish, and our fish fish of the year!  We caught 6, 2-3.5 pounders between the three of us, all good healthy fish!  Got in some multi species action, with a walleye, white bass, and cut bait for blue cats.  It was a really fun day.

Unfortunately the weather has been like we're mid-spring already, but double unfortunately the bass went from what seemed like prespawn a week ago to moving somewhere atypical where we couldn't find them. Still picked up a few and it was great being out on the water with sunny 60* weather (water temp 52-54*).

Picked this one up on a wacky but active fish along the shoreline were a rarity.

This fella hit while dragging in 40 fow, I gently swept and missed, and when he followed to "hit" again I got the poor guy in the tail.

I'll add a couple of my own pictures to @HaydenS report. My first fish of the day was a very nice walleye that smacked a 2tap on a mud flat.

All the bass were pretty similar size but my favorite I caught was this fat, dirty water spinnerbait eater.

The blues were both very nice bonus fish. Almost didn't bring the shad and rods to fish them but I'm glad I did.

For some reason I cannot see any pics you post. Anyone know why and what I can do to be able to see them? I see a jpeg address at the top but no pics. Thanks

Went out for a few hours yesterday evening, bite was a little better. Weather is back on a cooling trend, about 10 degrees cooler than the past few days (and down another 10 degrees today), nice cloud cover and decent breeze for the first couple of hours. Ended up with 10 and a crappie. Most of the bass and the crappie were on the jerkbait, but biggest fish came in at 4lb 5oz on the Thunderhawk Sergeant lipless in gold/black. Muuuch healthier fish than the last one I got, decent belly and shoulders. 12.75" crappie was a nice surprise. Also found a nice fresh antler shed on the bank.

Still haven't broken 5lb this year, which is unusual. Most of the smaller fish in the 2lb range look like they're pretty heavily gravid and gearing up to spawn, none of the bigger ones look like they're ready yet. Tilapia are on beds now so hopefully here soon. My "goal" fish for this spawn is a big girl that I caught in June 2020. Over 26" long and a massive head and shoulders on her, but itty bitty summer belly. Went 8lb 9oz when I got her, but I think this year she'd be 12-13 if I can get her when she's gravid.

I am relatively (not) young lol. Except in my head, where I can be 45, 27 or 14 depending on the situation! Yeah, I’m not fatigued sitting in a chair, driving, etc. But physical activity definitely is more tiring. But I have fished a few times and casting and reeling isn’t an issue, so I’m not going to complain too much!

Hope you get to 100% soon!

Sweet PB. Congrats.

Thanks guys!  She hit a slow rolled jackhammer with about 10' of line out from a pier.  I thought I bumped into some standing timber and did a quick pop up on the rod, then the "tree" started swimming at me.  It was a great way to get rid of the skunk, but I'm wearing it again tonight.  Got a couple more tries before I head back to the land of frozen everything.
