Show my face once in a while, man I’m getting old ???, but still kicking. Torn between hitting some golf balls or go fishing with only an hour of sunlight left. I’m glad i went fishing with this only bass.

Thats a very nice looking oriole. As a lifetime oriole fan its just a big downer with the birds.

With a lockout coming this spring i dont know if i will live to see the orioles win another world series or break 80 wins in a season.

Thanks. My daughter got me that hat for my birthday in September. Wore it bowhunting when I killed a 5 pointer.

I was born in 1960. I grew up watching some great Orioles teams. It’s been painful the last 20 years or so other than a couple seasons under Showalter. I saw the O’s beat the Phils in the WS in ‘83. I may not see another.

I was stationed in adak alaska during the 83 series.

Friends and i went trout fishing to a creek that sunday and i was determinded to listen to the game on armed forces radio  network.

We trudged 2 miles to the creek walking on soft wet tundra all the while i was carrying my 80,s boombox listening to the game.

I was estatic when they won while my friends couldnt

understand why i was going nuts with joy.

Losing the 79 series to the pirates just killed me as a teenager so this 83 series wiped all that away.

Took a buddy with me to the little lake I fished from my kayak last week. I talked it up, so I was really hoping it wouldn't disappoint. It was maybe a tiny bit more difficult than last week, but the bright full moon, no wind or clouds most of the day probably had a lot to do with that. We still put over 50 fish in the boat, along with a handful of baby wipers, a few crappie, a big bluegill, and a monster redear sunfish. Ned rig and jerkbaits ruled the day again, but Jon caught several on a Keitech also. My biggest of the day inhaled my jerkbait so hard my rod jumped in my hands on the pause.

Probably 6-10 of them like this throughout the day, we just decided not to take pictures of them.

I know this isn't huge compared to what they can be, but Kansas doesn't manage sunfish at all, so I get pretty excited to catch a big sunfish regardless of flavor. It was right at 10" and chomped a Ned rig.

I got out on the water with @galyonjyesterday, i headed downstream in search of striper .

Thanks for letting me take a break from my deathbed to tag along!

I only wish the bass I caught was as big as the first look at its mouth made us think it was. ?

Can't beat the views, though. Especially if you go for hours just off the main channel and don't see another boat.

I do love putting purple mustaches on bass.

Winter finally dropped on us tonight, and the north winds made it wicked once night fell. My buddy struck 1st with a scrappy little bass, but that was all the gods would grant him. I struck out with LM, but the Pickerel were biting. They fight hard in 48* water, so no complaints here.

It's been a complex year.  Early on I went 8 hours on the water, never had a bite, then found some warmer water and hit about 8 in an hour, with my personal best.  A few tough days in the spring with few fish but good fish, then could not find them in the summer.  Fall was spotty, tough mostly due to the wind, but a very good pike, and a great final day on St Clair with one that was within 3 oz of my personal best.  For me, it's all about smallies.  (and whatever else I can catch)  Didn't keep a single fish this year, but Costco has some nice Canadian walleyes now and then.

Had to get out after work this morning. Windy and in the low 50's when I walked out the door at work a little after 6am. Went home to get the boat and got to the ramp right at 7. I was hoping to get into some wipers but for some reason they haven't shown up this year. The bass were willing though and I kept my eyes on the shoreline for baits as I went along. Caught between 15-20 bass, mostly on a Ned but a few on my homemade compact spinnerbait also. Biggest was a 4.09 on the Ned. Found some baits along the way also.

Yesterday it warmed up into the low 60's.  This is the largest of the day at 4-03 lb.  It hit a RES that I was casting across a creek channel.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I am thankful for chunky bass who like a Ned rig… sight casted to her and got to watch her attack when I twitched it off the bottom. Only fish this AM but I will take a 2.5 pounder any day of the week. D1D2F996-D006-43B4-A98E-42AA7F115F4B.thumb.jpeg.f3dfdc0c7c4aac8fb02e54756c0223ae.jpeg

Caught This Lunker oct 8th, it only weighed 9 pounds, my PB but wished it had a meal so I would hit that 10 threshold, it should have weighed 10+ by all bass measuring charts 38D09FEB-E8E3-450E-9542-621BDA4F0960.thumb.jpeg.a5e1e079c78dfd7f0135c89e13cc5d3a.jpegC21695CB-85DE-4BBE-81BF-5A8F4C658AB2.thumb.jpeg.57c80353e5f45791f7c39034fab68cc3.jpeg789A3DE8-F791-4EB3-A887-E881E300275C.jpeg.546b70fefbe122ea100abe1638d165a0.jpeg

Ah ha...the ol plant a section of chain link fence under water trick.

I’m telling ya man, bluebasser finds more lures than I’ve ever seen. I think I’ve found about 12 lures in my life. Maybe. I’ve found a decent amount of trout flies in the mountains but the hooks are always rusted. You can really put new hooks on a fly!

last year after some serious flooding I found a lure in a customers yard haha

That’s impressive. It’s much more likely that I would lose that many rather than finding that many.  ?

I found 47 or 48 in a day once last year. My best day was over 100 baits from a heavily pressured lake I use to fish a lot. That was back when I had my 2 man and the whole bottom of it was covered with baits. I got checked by the park ranger that day and he was dumbfounded that I'd pulled that many baits from the lake. I fill shopping bags full of bobbers and donate them to kids fishing derbies also.

Put the boat in for a few hours thanksgiving a.m. fished 9-1 caught 9, all on a jerkbait, with the biggest at 3-2. Figured it was worth another shot so i went back and fished for an hour before work this a.m. in a chilly rain.  While i can't cast to where i caught them yest. I hit a spot near the launch and got 3 more on the same jerkbait. Forgot to grab my scale but the best was probably around 3lbs. again.
