Super User BrianMDTX Posted November 13, 2021 Super User Posted November 13, 2021 Yesterday was a dinkfest. So was this morning, which was dead until about 10:00. Nothing was working. I took a Zoom Trick off a 3/0 Gammy EWG and replaced it with a 4” #956 Senko. That was the “trick”. I even said to myself “this is catching a fish!” Caught six. Five dinks, but this one was pushing 2 lbs. Biggest one I’ve caught in a while. 14 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted November 13, 2021 Super User Posted November 13, 2021 Awesome pics, fellas! Just a few recent catches from some chilly water (47-51 degrees). What the pictures don't show are the tears in my eyes knowing fishing is coming to an end here in Wisconsin. 21 Quote

Especially with the bite-offs, etc. But the nicer ones are definitely welcomed! Especially when you're targeting them. 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted November 13, 2021 Super User Posted November 13, 2021 I finally found the bass on the outside edge of what I think is eelgrass. I hit several small schools of 1 to 2 pounders. 19 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted November 14, 2021 Super User Posted November 14, 2021 Foggy start to the day. Good news... water level finally starting to come up and is just 170' from full. Pops with the first one of the day. Lots of feisty spots but nothing >2lbs. LM weren't participating. Small Keitechs, tubes, and neko rigs all produced. Even though they were on the small side we can't complain about catching quite a few in November. 21 Quote

Super User MickD Posted November 14, 2021 Super User Posted November 14, 2021 Remember the string of posts on the forum that talked about replacing blade bait trebles with a single hook? Worked just fine, decent hook-up rate, lure worked just as well as with trebles, and didn't get hung up as often when it hit the bottom. Counted down 20 feet. 1 Quote

Functional Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Haven't been able to get out on the water for almost 3 weeks but finally got 5 hours in today. Managed 5 with the biggest breaking just over 3lbs. Not a monster by any means but for this lake it is. Hooked into a 6th fish that fought like hell, was stripping drag hard and as I worked him in he surged and snapped 12lb floro. Keeps me hooked! Also found a squarebill after getting tangled in the previous owners snapped line! No hooks on it though? 20 Quote
Eric 26 Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Went out this afternoon for about an hour, all my fingers could take in this weather. Although none were big I’m pretty happy just being out there? 15 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 15, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 15, 2021 Water was rolling fast today, got an 18” smallmouth and 17” largemouth with a jig, and caught a beautiful sunset 24 Quote

Cheap toss away hand warmers in each pocket are priceless. I'm optimistic that we're not locked in this pattern yet. 3 Quote

I only brought one rod with me and focused on finding the fish. Not saying that's why it was good, but I tried to tune in as much as possible to what the fish were doing. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 16, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 16, 2021 Got out a couple times this weekend, once at the lake by my house and then at a lake I'd never really fished before. I only had a few hours my first trip, so I stayed close. Ned rig and a few jerkbait fish, all the bigger ones eating the Ned. The first bigger fish had a frog in it's throat. They sure do turn the lights off early this time of year! I was in the middle of my "Where are you and why aren't you home yet?" call with my wife when I hooked this one. The other lake, I'd seen once when I was maybe 13? A friend and I camped there and catfished it. I remember lots of green sunfish but other than that we caught one catfish and nothing else. I had 7 or 8 rods, but again I could have just brought a jerkbait rod and Ned rig rod. Wish I would have tried the Ned sooner. Lots of grass, so I was worried it would just bog down. I guess that might have been a problem if the fish ever let it get down to the weeds. I fished it exclusively for the last hour and caught another 20+ fish with my biggest of the day eating it about 10 cast into it. 22 Quote
