RealtreeByGod Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 Went creek fishing for like the 3rd time ever and the first time I've ever done decent. Caught a couple dink smallmouth and a rock bass. These guys are fun to catch though, they put up more of a fight than some 4+ pound largemouth I've caught on the same gear. 16 Quote

How about a plastic bump board or measuring stick that won't rust? Maybe you can borrow @Team9nine holey jeans to match with the stained/rusty tape measure. Still a solid fish regardless of how its measured BTW 1 1 2 Quote

Super lightweight and they never rust. Measure the fish vertically so it never touches the ground. Also great for girth measurements if you get a fatty - and I can color coordinate or accessorize with my holey jeans ? 1 2 Quote

Unfortunately for you, I’ve got several of those metal pieces of tape measures in all of my boats! I shall make you squint for years to come in this thread…… when it really gets fun is when I use the ones that I’ve cut up away from the zero end and you have to do some math calculations 1 4 Quote

Joe_w1234 Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 With @JWall14 back home from college, we got out on the river for an afternoon. Not many pictures, but I did catch potentially my new PB! We didn’t have a scale, but from experience it probably would have gone around 3 or so pounds. 24 Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 This kid is on fire!! First the huge peacock last weekend and now this. He's never been able to land a frog fish due to him reacting too fast at the blow up or not a strong enough hookset. Well he's been mentally training for it. Today he begged endlessly to go try his new frog setup. Even though I was exhausted I took him to a quick spot just to say we tried. On the 5th cast across a tiny isolated patch of pads this happened! Another huge catch for my little guy! 25 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted October 15, 2021 Super User Posted October 15, 2021 Spinnerbaits on monofilament - almost nostalgic on the water today - lol. Traditional Fall patterns on our local reservoir are just now starting to kick in. Better late than never. 21 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 Took the day off today and hit lake Simcoe with my cousin. We used to fish tournaments together here about 20 years ago, and haven’t had the time to get out there together for years. Didn’t catch a ton of fish today, but it was beautiful weather and had a great day just roaming around and hitting some old spots and shooting the breeze all day long. Saw a few monsters cruising, but couldn’t hook anything over about 3-1/2lbs or so. 20 Quote

Aaron_H Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 Great catch! I went out for three hours this evening, bite was tough. Managed seven on the ned rig, not much size to them. Got a 4lb 14oz on that Thunderhawk silent lipless in gold 20 minutes before I packed it in, then right before dark got a 3lb 12 oz on a chatterbait. Those two ended up saving the night. 20 Quote
