You're making me look bad lol. Did you end up fishing near holly grove Marina at all?

Different weekend man ;), fishing got better each day I was there from Wednesday on.  You guys had the tougher fishing last weekend.

I fished downlake, Stonehouse was the furthest uplake I went...But I essentially fished everything between there and the dam.  All the major creeks plus a bunch of main lake cuts/coves on both sides.

Hopefully the tournament will go as well as practice! This one went 4.3, I think I shook off enough for us to catch tomorrow ?

Had a pretty solid day at Buggs Island. 12.24lbs puts us in 2nd in the state championship on day one. The forecast for day two looks like a lot of rain but we are hoping to scratch our a few before the storm rolls in wth thunder/lightning and shuts us down.

Finally sort of getting the hang of catching fish out of the kayak. Setting the hook has been a difficult thing for me to figure out, but I'm getting there. Made the best of the 2 hours I had at a really tough lake.

Was able to get 1 nice catch Monday after work at a local pond (5 lbs 2 oz). Picture quality was horrible, sorry.

First trip of the year . Cold temps puts the bass spawn on hold , pulling them into slightly deeper water into the heaviest cover . Texas rigged Jelly worms caught them . 4 over the slot , 2 under .

First time back out in a couple weeks early this AM.  It rained, was a bit windy and cold but who cares, I needed it.  Caught a couple dinks and a few panfish that were approaching too-big-for-the-pan sized, but no big bucketfaces today.

I started out slow, but figured them out pretty good on a tough lake in the last 3 hours of the day.

First time out this year on friday morning for a few hours, then a few more this morning today. Water was 52 friday, 54 today. Mostly i was itching to try some new setups, new lures, and make a renewed effort at some lower-confidence presentations (jerkbaits, jigs, dropshot) after a winter of reading up on them. I caught 5 total; not many, but some very satisfying firsts:

-- first bass of the year, on a duo spinbait 80 (also first ever spybait fish)

-- first bass I have ever caught on a drop shot -- forced myself to make it happen, finally!

-- first time catching a bass on a baitcaster. I resolved to learn baitcasting this year, so I have 4 new rods and reels to break in...2 are now officially broken in with successful catches.

--first time catching a bass on a jig with a skirt of my own making -- a 3/8 siebert brush head with a green pumpkin/watermelon/purple skirt

--first time catching a bass on a bladed jig I assembled myself -- I put together a barlows head, split ring, blade, snap, and tied my own skirt...sort of a "baby bass color", black, whisky-green on back, and translucent white underneath. The biggest fish (3.1) took this one. Botched the only pic I had, sorry. Next time...

The spawn is approaching, the small male buck bass have taken over the shallows and soon will be creating beds. Caught 5 today, first of which turned out to be the largest (Fish of the Day), and I managed to capture the catch on video...

Enjoy,

Caught this little lady last weekend skipping a dock with a senko. Caught another of similar size on a 3.8? swing impact on an owner underspin.

A 4 pounder and a 3.5 from the past week. Got the 3.5 last Thursday after work and the 4 on Saturday. Those NOLA City Park post-spawn bass have been biting really good the past couple weeks

Did some Smallmouth fishing over the last 3 days! There was a lot of fish in shallow and on beds! Super fun fish! - I can't upload the pictures because it says you can only upload them if they are less then 7.1 MB or something like that.
