Super User PhishLI Posted April 15, 2021 Super User Posted April 15, 2021 Just got back from an over-nighter grind of a wade with some pals. The original theme was supposed to be BIG swimbaits, but they wouldn't play along, so we eventually capitulated. I went really small and got the bottom two on a 3" Dark Sleeper and a 4" MB Hazedong Shad. LOL. So much for BIG bait dreams, for now anyway. We all hit good numbers and some nice chunks, so smiles all around. P.S. My buddy wore "that shirt" again just for you @TnRiver46 ? 18 1 Quote
TriStateBassin106 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Finally got on some fish the past 2 days, these being the biggest. Ned rig and texas rigs have been clutch. I believe these were all females, all loaded with eggs probably. 20 Quote
Super User deep Posted April 15, 2021 Super User Posted April 15, 2021 Fished a little bit in the AM, and caught this one. Also caught the customary little guys. 22 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted April 16, 2021 Super User Posted April 16, 2021 Got out for a couple hours before dark. I got a 4 pounder and another decent fish on the rage tail cut-r 23 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 16, 2021 Global Moderator Posted April 16, 2021 Got out for a few hours this morning, trying to decide if I wanted to jump into the kayak tournament on the lake by my house this Saturday. I always forget how much 2' of extra water is on a lake with no banks. Spread a small population of bass out through a flooded jungle of willow trees, makes it tough. My first bite took about 45 minutes to find, but at least it was a good one. 20 Quote
Biglittle8 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Fishing was ok this morning, lots of small fish. Couple of good ones. This pickerel crushed a Berkley Juke shallow running jerkbait. He was mad! 16 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted April 16, 2021 Super User Posted April 16, 2021 Caught this “whatever” on a XZone True Center Stick in Carolina Pumpkin Black Flake set up as a Neko rig. I think it may be a spotted bass, but not sure. I switched over to my new Falcon Lowrider All Round Fast MHF rod and a Daiwa Fuego CT reel spooled with 10 lb. YZH and a Daiwa/GYBC Neko Macho rigged as a weightless TR on a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG. First cast nothing. Second cast it sank maybe 6” and got hammered. I set the hook and I knew I had a good ‘un. It went on three long runs and went 180° from my right to my left. It started to head for shoreline brush and I horsed it out and finally landed it. What a beautiful bass! 18 Quote

I don’t think that’s a spot but I can see why you might say that. I thought it was at first glance but spots will have some different markings below the lateral line. Is Guadalupe a possibility? But looking at pics, I can’t say it’s a spotted bass, either. All I know for sure is that the jaw does not extend past the eye like a smallie. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted April 16, 2021 Super User Posted April 16, 2021 Just one little guy decided to attend my first kayak launch of the year this afternoon: 12 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 17, 2021 Super User Posted April 17, 2021 Seriously cold morning ~ Bite started early and was over just as quick. Best 5 were a blip under 25 lbs. Report & video for this one will be combined with whatever happens the next two days. So a 'Best of Three Days on Lake Menderchuck" is coming . . . A-Jay 21 Quote
