Super User NorthernBasser Posted March 22, 2021 Super User Posted March 22, 2021 FINALLY got on some open water today. 43 degree water. I wasn't really expecting much...was just happy to be out there. Only had a few hours to fish. Got a little guy on the very first cast! Was yo-yoing a blade bait in 20' of water. Managed 4 more over the next 1.5 hours. The 5 fish came on Damiki blade bait, Vision 110 and 13 Fishing lipless. Nothing big, but still a blast. 21 Quote

kayaking_kev Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Nothing special besides being my first fish of 2021. Jerkbait fish. 21 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted March 23, 2021 Super User Posted March 23, 2021 A little too windy for the aluminum rig yesterday, but we stuck it out in the coves and creek arms and managed a few on jig. Things settled down a little by the time I headed in, and was treated to a nice setting sun. 15 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted March 24, 2021 Super User Posted March 24, 2021 Went out to try the new Trolling motor on the bass hunter. Had to fish a little. One bite in an hour, but it was a 3.64 pounder. Caught it on a rage tail cut-r . The T.M and B. hunter worked great together as well. 18 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 24, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 24, 2021 2.5 hours in the wind on a cold, muddy water lake for one bite, but at least it wasn't a dink. 24 Quote

TriStateBassin106 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment....first official bass of 2021, deadsticking a 1/4oz PB&J jig on shallow riprap, I thought I was snagged until my line started to zigzag lol, feels good to be back on the saddle again after 7 months of few fishing sessions and a brutal winter. 2021 will be a good year! 21 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted March 25, 2021 Super User Posted March 25, 2021 Things finally worked out where the weather was nice enough to fish, even if it was only about 2 hours. Only caught one, wish I could have stayed longer. 5-03 27 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 26, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 26, 2021 Got to give the new Victory a workout on a solid jig fish today. Wish I could have found some of her friends instead of all her babies. 16 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 27, 2021 Super User Posted March 27, 2021 Water temps still unseasonably cold (52-54*) but with warm temps this next week we should finally start seeing some movement up shallow. Pops broke his 5 trip scoreless streak. Amazing how a small fish can make you almost as happy as a giant when you've been getting skunked. Picked up a much nicer one right after the little fella. They were liking the underspin swimjig with a 4.3 in 25-30 fow 13 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted March 27, 2021 Super User Posted March 27, 2021 Better than yesterday. Fished from the bank with my new rig, a Falcon Lowrider MHF and a Daiwa Fuego CT. Took nothing but soft plastics as it is set up as my worm rig. Tried X Zone and Rage craws. Nada. Tried an electric blue Senko TR. Nope. Switched to a Neko Macho TR. Yup. First one threw the hook as like a dummy, I loosened the drag earlier and didn’t reset it, and the drag let out on the hookset. Not a big bass but still lol. Caught 4 on the Neko Macho-all were 1 to 1.5 lbs. Switched to a Fat IKA. Nuthin’. Went back to a Senko TR, using good ol’ #956. Parallel to the bank under an overhanging tree limb. Starting running as soon as it sank. Not a monster but a better fish for sure. Had a old Yum Dinger stuck in his craw! Very pleased with the new rig! 15 Quote
Fishlegs Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 You’re on a trend of finding fish with old lures in them @BrianMDTX. Quote
