We are in that in between time...no open water but ice is trash...I know it won't be long but I'm getting itchy! That's where we were this time last week. All it took was a couple days over 50 degrees and 1.6 inches of rain to clear out the worst of it Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 6, 2021 Super User Posted March 6, 2021 Almost embarrassed posting these latest catches after seeing Dwight's! Things still seem a ways from busting loose here, so I ended up "practicing" with a couple baits I rarely use: A-rig and a chatterbait. Had a slow trip as expected, but it was cool catching a few on those setups. Pretty cool it hit the one bait that stood out from the others just like Matt Allen said they usually will. Apparently it's not just Tennessee where the bass enjoy a jackhammer in fire craw. Absolutely inhaled it on a yo yo retrive. 14 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted March 6, 2021 Super User Posted March 6, 2021 First bass of the year. Got him on a spinnerbait in a patch of dead lily pads. 12 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted March 6, 2021 Super User Posted March 6, 2021 Slow day under blue skies, north winds and post frontal conditions. Water stained and just 40 degrees here. Nabbed a few, but had to go out to the base breakline in nearly 20' of water to do it. Probably change lakes up next trip. 15 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted March 7, 2021 Super User Posted March 7, 2021 Looking more like the bite is gonna continue to get better. I found 55 degree water at the top of the tide and my best fish, this healthy 4.5lber ate an Evergreen chatterbait... 19 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted March 7, 2021 Super User Posted March 7, 2021 Not a great day, but not bad for 3.5 hours of late morning-early afternoon fishing. Caught one on a Zoom Trick TR and 7 on a 5” Senko WR. These three were the biggest. As no one else fishing this pond caught anything, I cannot and will not complain! 15 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 8, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 8, 2021 Caught me some dinks this weekend and that's it. Had one heavy fish hooked Saturday in my kayak on a jerkbait but it pulled off. Dogs got their first trip out Sunday in the warm wind and were loving it. 19 Quote
Logan S Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Caught a nice one this weekend. Local lake is very hit or miss when it's this cold...Usually a miss, so felt great to get this one . 20 Quote
Biglittle8 Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 Delta craw Red eyed shad and Red craw Ratl-Trap working today. 6 fish, nothing big. Did get 2 on yellow and black spinner bait. 80degrees here. 10 Quote
Fishlegs Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Shout out to @roadwarrior for putting me on some nice smallmouth, including my PB. Thank you, sir! I don’t have a digital scale, but my spring scale said it was between 4.75 and 5 lbs. I put a more thorough write up at Heading to Pickwick Tuesday for anyone who’s interested...or bored. ? PB smallmouth ~3.5 lbs another ~3.5 lbs 16 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 11, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 11, 2021 Went for a short trip after work this morning in the gentle 30mph Kansas breeze. A 6th Sense Provoke did most of the damage but a homemade bladed jig got big fish honors. 15 Quote

HaydenS Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Went out this Saturday and Wednesday with a friend, and we caught some fish. Most of them came on a jerkbait(Lucky Craft Pointer, Megabass 110+1), but one came on a Megabass dark sleeper. 13 Quote
HaydenS Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 We caught a total of 18 bass and two crappie. Quote
lo n slo Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 caught 6 spots this afternoon. these 2 came on my first and second casts of the day. swt (52) had risen a good four degrees in the last ten days and even warmer towards the back of some pockets. the wind was blowing like a freight train and i had to anchor down in order to stay on some of my brush piles. life is good. 14 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 Slow go this morning. Surprising as it was 63° at sunrise and about 75° when I made my last cast before noon. Tried a Whopper Plopper and a Megabass Popmax on top. WP was dead; got one swirl on the Popmax. Caught two dinks on a WR Senko #956 and two more on a Zoom Trick in watermelon red. Then I “caught” another bass that was latched onto the tail of the Trick that was a gigantic 2.5” long lol. He must have been seriously starving! Tried a Daiwa/GYBC Neko Macho Neko rigged and got nothing. Decided to try it weightless TR and that picked up the action. Caught three more. Nothing special but still a fun morning. 9 Quote
Nelson Wormefeller Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 First fish of 2021 for me. 45 degrees and the lake had ice on 2/3rds. 23 Quote
