Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 26, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 26, 2020 Took a very rare after work trip on a Sunday morning this morning. Another cold, cloudy start. Ran into a guy that watches my videos that I talked to for half an hour at the ramp, that's always interesting. About my second cast of the morning I got my first good bite on a spinnerbait. Got me thinking I was really going to do good. 45 minutes later, I'd caught 2 more tiny bass. It's the time of year on this lake when the hybrids go to one little spot and I can usually make them bite for whatever reason. I actually remembered my baits for them too. First cast got slammed. A couple cast later, an even bigger one. Then another. And then they stopped, because that's what they do. I tried for them for another half hour and did pick up a really cool looking bonus fish. I kind of halfheartedly went back to bass fishing but then caught another decent one pretty quick to get my head back in the game. I made a move down the lake and lost another nice one of the spinnerbait, first bite I'd had on it since catching the first one with it. Decided to keep slinging the blades a little more and man did I get rewarded. Funny thing is, I'd mentioned something to the guy at the ramp how I'd never caught one over 5 from this lake, well I have now, 5.53 to be exact. Caught another solid fish off a laydown and a few more smaller ones out of the weeds on the spinnerbait before I had to call it a day. Ended up catching my new lake PB and my biggest 5 fish bag ever for that lake. 14 Quote
JohnFromLisbon Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Long-arming a 2 and 1/4 lb largemouth, the only fish we caught on Saturday. Bit a drop shot Super Fluke Jr. on a small no. 4 Gamakatsu hook that pinned him perfectly just behind the top row of teeth. 13 Quote
keagbassr Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Couple pics from recent trips. 1st is a 3-8 I caught today the best of 8 on a spinnerbait, 2nd pic a 3-1 from last thurs. Also on a spinnerbait. 12 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 31, 2020 Super User Posted October 31, 2020 Seems like nearly every bass in the lake is offshore stalking bait between 25-60 ft, so we finally decided to grab some spoons and go chase them. Not one of my favorite ways to fish but it was enjoyable doing some "video game" style fishing with the electronics. 10 Quote
long island basser Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Got out today on my home lake from 12 to 5 pm. Air temp 42-44, water 54. Boated 9 bass, with 8 caught on a 1/2 oz blade bait. The one other on 4.5” Big Bite Baits squirrel worm-DS. A few pics. Best lmb 4lbs 8 oz Best smb 3 lb 12 oz a couple more. 15 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 1, 2020 Global Moderator Posted November 1, 2020 Got out Friday at the power plant lake. It was too nice to be out there but the fishing was too good last week not to go back. Lots of fish this week, but the bigger bite dried up. Still caught a couple little bit bigger ones up to 4.5lbs. The same squarebill was getting hammered again. Saturday I went out for a couple hours at the local lake to see if any of the hybrids would bite before the sun got up high. First cast, 1 and done. After working the spot over for a hour with only 1 more bite from a big white bass, I tried for some largemouth. Water temps had dropped over 10 degrees since last week but I still caught a few. A custom painted wiggle wart KO was getting most of the attention. 16 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 My first good fish of Sunday had the 6th Sense Quake 70 sideways in the jaws. She was just skin hooked, but the Daiwa Tatula XT 7' MHR loaded smoothly and I kayak flipped this one right in the boat. The best fish of Sunday came off the YUM Killshot in Green Pumpkin. 6# fluorocarbon on a ML was one heck of a good time and made the day worthwhile. The Lunkerhunt Dropshot hook is probably the cheapest good dropshot hook around and it pinned her perfectly in the roof of the mouth. 15 Quote
Nelson Wormefeller Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Caught a bunch of Bass and Perch hanging around a weed/grass bed. Nothing spectacular, but it was 29 degrees outside and that's cold for me personally 12 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted November 4, 2020 Super User Posted November 4, 2020 Got 1 on a frog just now. He just sipped it in. Didnt know he was on until I lifted the rod to pop it. 12 Quote
BlackwaterPark10 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 One of the nice ones from yesterday. It ate a Big Dawg Baits 7" Wagger swim worm. 13 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted November 7, 2020 Super User Posted November 7, 2020 Water temp. dropped to 74 degrees. Bass moved to the shore line. Landed a 8.1 pound 24 1/2 inch on a buzz bait first thing in the morning. Lost a giant in the afternoon on a DT 10. Lots of small ones in-between. I still haven't found a good way to take a picture while fishing in my kayak. 14 Quote

Nice Bass ~ Congrats ! btw - since you have that pole in the yak, a phone mount like the ones in the links below might at least enable you to take a pic/video holding your catch. https://www.amazon.com/ChargerCity-Microphone-iPhone-Galaxy-Smartphones/dp/B01N97JSTH/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=phone+mount+for+pole&qid=1604795753&sr=8-4 https://www.amazon.com/Action-Mount-Mounting-Bracket-Operable/dp/B01D3EE85W/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=phone+mount+for+pole&qid=1604795753&sr=8-5 A-Jay 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 8, 2020 Global Moderator Posted November 8, 2020 Fish were hungry on Friday. Fed a whole bunch of them a 6th Sense Quake and Provoke, along with a bladed jig and few other baits. Didn't find any big ones, but my wrist and ribs were sore by the end of the day. When I got home, my new ride had FINALLY made it to the house. An Old Town Sportsman 120PDL. Took it to the local lake Saturday morning just wanting to test it out, but I got on a hot pattern with a Ned rig too. Ended up catching 34 up to 4.56lbs on it and smoked my buddies that were out there fishing also. I do feel like I did way too many squats after peddling around the lake for 5 hours though 18 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Went river bassing in the kayak, my brother and buddies got skunked having to paddle in the current. I managed to land 3 from a landing I've never hit, caught some pickerel and an 8" warmouth. 6th Sense Crush 50x fish. Was bouncing it through the large roots of a fallen tree, this dude smoked it and immediately helped himself to some afterburner with the current behind him. 14 Quote
BASS302 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 @Bluebasser86, Congrats on your success. What color is that 6th Sense Quake? Is it the Thud version? 1 Quote

Mbirdsley Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 It has been over a month since I’ve had the boat in the water. In mid-Michigan this time of year any fishing this late in the year is considered a bonus. Little slow but, what I did catch made up for it. A 3.6 lbs smallie and a smaller smallie. Started at green point on the Shiawassee side and ended up past the HESr ( first rail road bridge) in down town Saginaw. The bigger one came up by the confluence. Caught the smaller one and lost another nice fish in down town. Both came on my jigs that I make with black/blue chigger craw as a trailer. Bigger fish came in a 3/8 oz Arkie jig, smaller one on a black blue 3/4 oz brush jig. Lost a really nice fish down town. I havnt fished a lot this late in the fall but, river is full of Shad. Up by the confluence I was snagging them while casting. Even down town the graph is full of Shad top to bottomzDidn’t see or hear a lot of walleye being caught. River had a lot of people on it fishing walleye. 16 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted November 9, 2020 Super User Posted November 9, 2020 Got off work early today and was on the water by 3 . Very windy ( gusts over 30) I caught several on some kind of havoc craw. Most of these were under docks. Also got some on a 10 1/2 inch ribbon tail worm. Also got a few on a bama craw yum dinger. Lost another big fish reeling the yum dinger across a grass bed. He clobbered it and somehow came off. Ended up with 11 . 17 Quote
