BigSkyBasser Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Went out on Saturday again since I already filled my deer tag, and taking a week off before going after my elk. It was 29 degrees outside and snowing. Water temp was in the low 40s around the entire pond. So you can imagine how suprised I was when I found big females feeding up in 1 foot of water and aggressively taking my jerkbait. Also ended up with this bonus rainbow Quite possibly one of the best Novembers I've ever had fishing. 12 Quote
Fairtax4me Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Fishing here has been sllllllllooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww for me this fall. A turd ton of rain has literally flooded and turned over almost every lake that’s within 6 hours of here. We went from late summer fishing to almost winter fishing in a week. After being skunked or nearly skunked on the last few trips I did manage to catch 5 over the weekend. My biggest was around 3.5. One dink on a squarebill, the rest on Texas rigged soft plastics dragging bottom super slow. Feelin the crunch now, seems like the rest of this year is flying by, and running out of time to get on some more big girls before true winter hits. 10 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 14, 2018 Global Moderator Posted November 14, 2018 @JustJames, I have caught a lot of trout on batcasting gear but I still don’t think that counts as a trout rod hahahaha Quote

That is a long bass I’m guess right at 4 but she’s a skinny bass with a big head probably a 5 pounder that needs to fatten up. You didn’t get this one on go pro ? I watch most your videos ?. Must have been fun to catch that one on spinning gear she’s a fatty. 4 Quote
Russ E Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 had a break in the cold weather and decided to head to the local power plant lake, to try out my new Kastking speed demon pro jerkbait rod. Put a tatula ct on it and threw a yozuri jerkbait around for 4 hours. The combination worked great. caught several white bass and wipers on the upper hot side of the lake. water temp was 54 degrees. went to the cold lower end of the lake and caught these 2 bass. water temp was 49 degrees. No monsters, but still gave the new rod a decent workout. felt good to get out on the water after a week of unseasonably cold weather. 11 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 17, 2018 Global Moderator Posted November 17, 2018 We caught gobs of jerkbait fish at the trout lake today, including one big trout on a jerkbait. Fish were really grouped up when we found them. Quote
Russ E Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I was thinking about heading there Monday. Surprisingly, I did not catch any largemouth in the warmer water. The two I caught were on rip rap in cold water. Quote

Super User deep Posted November 20, 2018 Super User Posted November 20, 2018 Been a month or two since I last fished. Caught 6 little guys and this not-so-little one today. 18 Quote
Fairtax4me Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Put a new PB in the boat today!!! My buddy’s been working hard for this fish for a long time! 8.5lbs, 24” I had to play net man on this one, and we were both pumped to bring in a Giant first fish of the day! Rest of the day was an absolute grind. Only three fish total between us. Can’t complain too much for the first fish out of a new lake! We were also the only boat on the water from sunrise to 3pm. One other boat put in, and then a few brave kayakers hit the water just as the wind picked up to 15-20mph and chopped the place up big time. 43° water and less than 3 foot visibility. They were on the bottom, and we could find an occasional school, but just could not get them to eat. Except the important one! 19 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted November 23, 2018 Super User Posted November 23, 2018 Was planning to fish the home lake today after 1. Forecast was rain. Radar seemed to confirm it , and showed some lightning strikes in it. Waited awhile and it still looked immenent , so I decided to fish the cypress pond down the road so I could leave quickly if needed. First cast got a dink, 2nd cast, one that was about 2 inches longer. Got these off a drain. Caught 5 more 1-2 pound fish, all out of the cypresses. Caught all the fish on 5 inch yum dingers in alabama bug and pumpkin chartruese tail. Nice little back up spot. These fish are broader in the tail half of the fish than the head half. Kind of backwards compared to most of the fish I normally catch. As I write this, is still hasnt rained yet... 10 Quote
Fairtax4me Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 The Yum Dinger has become my new go-to worm lure. Tex-posed, Texas rigged, wacky, neko, shakey head, doesn’t matter, it catches fish. Also caught several big bass this year on it. There’s a time and a place for it, but it just flat out works. 3 Quote

JLindsey Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 It’s been awful slow here, but I finally, FINALLY figured out these cold water bass. On Wednesday I caught the fella pictured here and I was absolutely over the moon. I’ve only been bass fishing for a few months, so to me any fish above two pounds is something to write home about. I couldn’t wait to catch a few more. On Thursday, family obligations and a cold snap both meant I couldn’t hit the water. But Friday I went back out to the lake, VERY excited...aaaaand the lake was frozen over. Heck and darn. 12 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 24, 2018 Global Moderator Posted November 24, 2018 Caught a mixed bag , including a humpback smallmouth and a crappie with a lamprey on it. We caught largemouth smallmouth spotted bass bluegill white bass and black crappie , all in the middle of the day 10 Quote
The Bassman Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Temps moderated a little here in central IN since Thanksgiving. Just for fun I went back to my warm weather tactics by throwing a weightless Senko. Just fished it deeper and slower. Had real good results with three over 2 lb. and this big one. Sorry about the bad lighting. 13 Quote

rv8apilot Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 New personal best. Unfortunately, I left the scale at home, so I'll just have to catch another one to weigh it! Pickwick Dam, TN, 11/28/2018. 24 Quote
