Thread is a thousand times better when people post whatever fish made them happy enough to share it 🙂 I agree wholeheartedly. I love seeing what everyone catches. I don't always get excited about every fish I catch, but I am happy every time I catch a fish. 2 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted Friday at 02:10 AM Super User Posted Friday at 02:10 AM Caught a nice 7.2 yesterday on the Queen Tackle Rollin Strollin/Drift Fry combo. Tried to make a complete video showing the ridiculous action on this bait but the stupid editing program kept getting buggy. This is the second season of using these Drift Fry, and the novelty keeps growing. That front lip makes the bait almost stand still while aggressively rolling, it's the closest bait I've ever seen to matching what a stunned Threadfin Shad does in cold water. They do this thing where they roll on their sides and the right themselves. Adding the elastomer models was the final cherry on top. I think it's the coolest fishing lure I've ever owned. 19 Quote

Super User Swamp Girl Posted Friday at 03:17 AM Super User Posted Friday at 03:17 AM Alex, your winter fishing makes this one of the best seasons at Bass Resource. I pity the fools who live on your lake and don't fish it in the winter! 1 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted Friday at 04:31 AM Super User Posted Friday at 04:31 AM Thanks Katie! I feel like one of the real perks of catching a nice fish since joining this forum is getting an attaboy from you.....I'm spoiled now 😎 The weather the last week and for the foreseeable future has been so nice that other anglers have been out there, but the Bass know I'm the only one that calls them Sweetie 🤣 2 Quote

Super User Team9nine Posted Saturday at 12:04 AM Super User Posted Saturday at 12:04 AM I got my unicorn today. A lot of close calls, but only 2 bites today. She bit a MB 110 FX late under cloudy skies just as sprinkles were moving in. Went 8.20 on the Rapala and 8-1/4 on the Chatillon. Water already warmed up to 55 degrees, but I’m sure that’s just surface. A good 4 days or more of rain next week will probably change everything. 21 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted Saturday at 12:44 AM Super User Posted Saturday at 12:44 AM @Team9nine Way to go brother! What a giant, and beautiful fish! @Aaron_H Thanks for the kind words friend! She sure did put on a great show. I have no doubt you'll get that big prespawn girl, you got plenty of experience with those big girls as we've seen in the past in this thread. I predict she'll come on a jerkbait if history is a good judge 😎 Stay strong my Canuck and Yankee friends.......contrary to what Punxsutawney Phil recently forecasted, Spring will come sooner than later, and a new PB is waiting for each and every one of you! 2 1 Quote

I appreciate the kind words, a big one on a jerkbait in the coming weeks would put a big smile on my face, for sure. Lipless and bladed jig are strong contenders, as well. Edit: This Chatter Bait to bladed jig auto correct thing is super weird. 3 1 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted Sunday at 12:28 AM Super User Posted Sunday at 12:28 AM Sacked up a bit over 21lbs for a nice day. The 6.5 came on the Deps MIDST 1/4oz Drift Fry combo.....then the other 4 fish that made the bag were between 3.5-4lbs and all came on the spinnerbait. If I'm catching them on a spinnerbait, I've thrown the entire tacklebox 😆 15 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted Sunday at 12:50 AM Super User Posted Sunday at 12:50 AM Thanks a bunch Aaron! It really baffles me how I can go the entire Fall catching a handful of 5lb+ fish, and then the winter rolls around and that's possible on a single day. Winter comes when I'm just about to cry uncle from a losing streak 🤣 3 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted Sunday at 12:58 AM Super User Posted Sunday at 12:58 AM Nothing to see here. Just another casual 20lb+ winter bag from @AlabamaSpothunter. Awesome, man. 1 1 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Super User Posted Sunday at 12:59 AM Alex, as you know, I love those 20 lb. bags. They take consistency and they're so. much. fun. In my case, being alone in a 16 ft boat, camera propped on a seat or against the side of the boat, I can only get about 5 ft away from the camera, so all ratios of me-to-camera and bass-to-camera get exaggerated, and sometimes even more so depending on exact angle. I bought a clip that attaches to my windshield last year that holds my phone for a timed photo. Since I fish solo sometimes, and I wanted an action shot of some fish in addition to laying them on a bump board, this seems to have solved my problem. I got to be pretty good at it as the season progressed - with bass. When I caught a muskie though, that was a challenge. Not a great photo because of the sheer length. Hopefully I can improve on it this upcoming season. Course, when someone comes with me, they can just take the photo for me. I tried to get my dog to do it but she doesn’t have thumbs. 3 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted Sunday at 01:04 AM Super User Posted Sunday at 01:04 AM First trip in TX this year because I’ve been busy. Turns out they are still biting a jig. These bass have no style, man. They just wake up, eat jig, go to bed. Caught a few small ones and missed a bunch unfortunately. Here’s the best one at just under 3lbs. Happy to be back on the water 😎 #returnoftheshades 13 Quote
