Fishlegs Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 @Dwight Hottle Calling that a “nice one” might be the understatement of the year. What a fish! @AlabamaSpothunter Big beast on a mini lure. Well done! @Aaron_H Gold is the only H2O lipless I don’t have. Now I need one. Thanks a lot! 😂 2 1 Quote

Thanks a lot! 😂 I picked up some in gold, chrome/blue, a natural bluegill color, and then my store had a color called American Shad on clearance for like $2.97 so I bought 4 or 5 of them I think. Really solid bait IMO once you upgrade the hardware. 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted November 21, 2024 Super User Posted November 21, 2024 You can tell by the sky in the background that I was out today as a decent front was working its way into the area. It completely moved out the shad from the areas I was fishing a couple days back, and subsequently, many of the bass. I did find a couple in some shallower areas upriver, so it wasn’t a complete shutout…and the high hit 70, which is nearly 20 degrees warmer than the next couple days are supposed to be. Maybe we'll finally drop water temps into the 50s which I think would help the bite. 17 Quote

You know I love bass stories. @Fishlegs Thanks friend! Katie, not much of a story but she sure was a blast to catch on the pixie wand. Some fish are just destined to be caught no matter how much the angler screws up, and the opposite seems true as well. She ran under the boat and then jumped on the other side of the boat before I knew it, couldn't believe she stayed hooked up. I feel like big LMB are akin to bucking broncs or bulls. Every Bass seems to buck differently, they truly do have their own personalities. That might be my favorite quality about LMB. They really do seem like individualistic critters. 4 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted November 23, 2024 Super User Posted November 23, 2024 I know many of you are getting snow, so I’m not going to complain about 43° this morning. It did warm up later (74° now). But it was slow. Started promising with a 3 lb’er on a Zoom Trick Magnum, but nothing for almost two hours after that until I caught a 1.5 lb. bass on a Rage Bug on a 3/0 EWG TR. That poor bass! Its jaw had been ripped bad previously. Still looked healthy overall but that had to hurt! Caught a dink after that one and that was it. 13 3 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted November 23, 2024 Super User Posted November 23, 2024 Oh yeah, almost forgot. Somehow my net went over the side. That’s two in two years. I need one that floats! Quote

Super User Swamp Girl Posted November 24, 2024 Super User Posted November 24, 2024 @The Baron: Canadians talk smack? Love that net, @BrianMDTX. I'd order it if I didn't already own six nets. 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted November 24, 2024 Super User Posted November 24, 2024 @Swamp Girl lol. Six? You’re set! I can’t believe I’ve lost two nets and both in the same pond. The first one I saw go over the side and couldn’t grab it in time. This one I had no clue until I was getting the boat out of the water and was like “Where’s my net?” I used it on the first two bass (not the 8” dink) so it had to be after the second one. Truth be told, this will be better anyway as the handle on the sunken one was rather short. A longer handle will reach farther and keep me from possibly high-sticking a rod. 1 Quote
OHBuckets Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Cold, high water; cloudy and windy. For some reason known only to them, the bass wanted the Hybrid Hunter Jr today. Three nice fish! Then hands on coffee... 22 Quote
Pat Brown Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I don't get it - it drops 20 degrees and heavy 15 mph North winds blow across the 50° surface and all I can get them to eat is a topwater! 😂😂😂 Got a couple snags on the lipless and finally nailed my first colder water lipless bass day before yesterday: All the big ones that have hit have been basically silent/zero fan fare/zero blow up and that is TOUGH to detect on a windy day! We gonna get one though. Just a matter of time. 21 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 25, 2024 Global Moderator Posted November 25, 2024 Got out to one of my favorite little cold water lakes this past weekend. There was a bad algae bloom an the water was still just a little too warm, but I caught quite a few healthy fish still and had a good time. The Besotted jerkbait was on a pretty good tear in the morning and I finally caught one on one of the ABS Bull Shads. 24 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted November 28, 2024 Super User Posted November 28, 2024 Very nice but slow afternoon on a local reservoir until I got lucky and pulled up on the right spot at the right time with about 40 minutes to go and limited out in 20. Blade bait in 58 deg. water. 18 Quote

Peacedivision Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Couple bass from the striper trip yesterday. Definitely wasn't expecting a LM on a glide so that was a nice surprise. Bucca trick shad hits on its first day out. 17 Quote
softwateronly Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Well the cold finally landed, got the boats out Tuesday to avoid the snow and sleet. Here's my last gasp at feeling my fingers while fishing. Couple city bass from shore, dragging a little tube yet again; And here's the last days of having the bigger boat out, the bite was a little more open, shaking a minnow, mid column walking the dog with a BayRuff, and aggressively working a tailspin in the bottom third of the water column with my first fish caught in over 30' fow. scott 20 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted November 30, 2024 Super User Posted November 30, 2024 Pretty strong front set in today. Highs barely broke 50, and winds were steady out of the north 8-12 with the occasional stronger gust. It was a bad setup for where I wanted to fish, but was still able to scrounge out 4 bass in just under 3 hours. I've fished in worse, for less, so no complaints Now we wait for the eventual warmup. 21 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted December 2, 2024 Global Moderator Posted December 2, 2024 Went out this morning and got two crappie, came home for breakfast mid morning and my wife made a French ham and cheese croissant. Went back out fishing around 2 and fished offshore, only one nibble. Then I Hit the banks with a green pumpkin finesse worm and got 7 smb and 1 lmb from 4-5:30. Largest was around 17”, one was super skinny and another fought way harder than it should have for its size. Fun day 21 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 2, 2024 Global Moderator Posted December 2, 2024 Went out Saturday in what was supposed to be light winds and some flurries. The wind was way stronger than expected and those "flurries", sure accumulated quickly when they were coming down so fast I couldn't see across the lake. The fish didn't mind, biting from start to finish. Over 30 largemouth, several trout, a couple white bass, 2 walleye, a couple drum, even a little flathead in the 48* water. One of the bass was my heaviest of the year at 6.02lbs, a full .01lbs heavier than my previous heaviest of the year. 18 Quote
