softwateronly Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Got out the last 2 mornings and the bites weren't frequent, but there were some certifiable studs mixed in. November is really starting to solidify as my favorite month to fish. Here's a couple from the best two, one on a bayruf and the other on a rapala minnow, one fast, one slow, one high in the column, one right off the bottom. Water was 54. scott 19 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted November 18, 2024 Super User Posted November 18, 2024 November might be a cool month, but it's a hot month for Scott. 1 Quote

I cast ten times and caught nothing. I only took one lure, an underspin. It did give me a chance to photograph part of the extended boardwalk, which now reaches all the way to the pond. You can also see the inlet where I dock my canoe. Can't believe your puppy is that close to the water and not wet! Now that you've crushed the excuse to walk the pooch......launch the canoe! Quote

I was driving along a river and remembered I had my rod with the underspin in my car, so I stopped to cast four times twice. Double skunked! That's three times in a row I've been skunked, so I struck out for 2024. Seriously, I could launch my canoe, but the water is really cold. I could catch bass, but I could also tip and die. 1 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted November 19, 2024 Super User Posted November 19, 2024 A really good afternoon on the reservoir, but it could have been great. Caught 2 dozen bass including several better quality fish, but lost one that might have been much bigger than anything I landed right before dark. Played it for 2 or 3 minutes, but it never surfaced. Finally got it near the boat and to the leader knot twice, but never saw it. One last surge and the lure just popped out. Not seeing it was probably a good thing, as I’ll never know for certain what or how big. Sigh…😮💨 17 Quote

Jerkbait bite hasn't been super hot for me yet, really looking forward to that in these coming weeks. 4 Quote

Dan Turpin Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Couple football jig fish from the last time out. 23 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted November 19, 2024 Super User Posted November 19, 2024 @Dan Turpin: I'm confused. Is Lake Menderchuck on Vancouver Island? I do know that if Peyton Manning saw those two bass, he'd start yelling, "Omaha, Omaha!" And Tom Brady might try to deflate them. 2 3 Quote

ak6388 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Out yesterday for one last time on the kayak with a few friends. We caught around 10-12 fish with the majority being on shallow cranks and a handful on finesse swimbaits. Water temperature was 54-56, not a bad day for mid November in Ohio, they were definitely feeding heavily. Biggest fish for me was 3.30 caught on a flat side crank bait right off a submerged laydown. 24 Quote

I can count on one hand the number of times I've ever fished in November, other than a random 1/2 hour walking the riverbank on the way home. Weather has been pretty cooperative -- I could still be out on kayak regularly this month if I had time. Alas... Super User T-Billy Posted November 19, 2024 Super User Posted November 19, 2024 I've been picking up a few green fish on the rig lately while fishing for the toothy critters that eat them. No big's. Most are about this size. Figgered I might should post one in an effort to keep my BR membership in good standing. It's been awhile since I posted any bass. 😁 20 1 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 Magnificent and scary looking fish Dwight! Fish like that remind me why every day I don't wake up as a Bluegill is a good day 😆 Finally got an Elephant to eat my favorite little peanut bait, the Flashback Mini. 22 Quote
Aaron_H Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Two incredible fish, congrats @Dwight Hottle and @AlabamaSpothunter For me, today was a dinkfest. Biggest went 2.47lb and choked the H2OX lipless deep, got her in the gill so no glamour shot, just got her unhooked, got her in the water to make sure the bleeding was stopping, quick weight then release. Got a couple of small ones on the 1/2 oz MiniMax. Have some 3.5" Spunk Shads and 3" Zakos in transit to pair with these, but made due with cutting down a Zoom Fluke, seemed to work just fine. Missed quite a few bites on it, but I think the smaller profile was just attracting more tilapia strikes than usual. I'm starting to see more shad balled up on the surface, which is a good sign of things to come hopefully. 19 Quote
