Just one quick one before chores this morning.  Bout to head back for the sunset showdown.  Hoping to get into a bigger one.

It was fun catching one on a discontinued strike King color though.

Did a little snow bassin' this afternoon. Winter had the audacity to show itself the past two days. Except for one hard cold spell a month ago we've been very fortunate this year. Just caught three with two being counters. Kinda tricky walking the banks so was a bit limiting. Just felt good to get bit.

Nope. You didn't catch three. You caught six, with four being counters. There's a thing called Snow Math, where the snow doubles all bass caught.

Is that anything like voodoo economics?

Voodoo economics is make-believing. Snow math is snow real.

Massive high pressure dominating the eastern half of the country bringing high blue skies, light north winds, and high barometer readings. Wasn’t sure how bad it would affect things, but didn’t have my hopes too high. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got 4 keeper largemouth, 3 of them between 3-3.5 pounds and then a 16 incher. Also scored a couple more 2 lb. plus crappie.

Finally had a good trip Sunday. No really big ones but I did finally get a pretty decent one, biggest of the year so far. The day after a 2 day cold front, put over 40 in the kayak. They were eating the paint off my crankbaits. Water temps got up to 45-46 at the end of the day. Best cranks were an Evergreen Flat Force, Spro Speed Demon, and Berkley Money Badger.

I especially like his 19.25-incher. Baby got back...and belly. I love when they bow both ways.

Hiked through the woods today to check a creek too small to kayak.During the spawn some smallmouth will leave the main lake and go up tiny creeks.I assumed I was too early but I figured it was better to be early than late.Lost a decent one on a jerkbait.I could smell skunk all over me.Tied on a half oz. jig and managed 1.It was the only one I landed but I was happy to see fish migrating to spawning grounds.Hopefully the big ones will show up soon.Fingers crossed.

Went out and caught the biggest spotted bass I've hooked yet to my knowledge. It blew up on the popmax a few times before taking a barb

Real nice spot! I get pretty excited when I can get spots in the three pound range. I've only had a few but they keep me coming back.

@thediscochef: You've worked so hard to catch bass this winter, so I'm prouder times two of you. And since you have America's Best Beard, your fat girl has a glorious crimson backdrop.

Crappie didn’t want to come out and play today, but thankfully the bass were a little more cooperative. Water slowly bumping up into the low 50s here and starting to clear nicely. Now, if I can just get the right exposure setting for my pics 🤔

Hey, Ryan! You said you'd catch some bass and post and ZOOM, you did! Nice to have you in this thread and over the years, I'm looking forward to seeing many more of your bass. If you feel like it, take a photo of the place you catch your fish. I always like seeing where people are catching them.

I wish I could reciprocate right away, but the guys will tell you that I'm tied for the worst bass angler in December, January, and February at Bass Resource, neck and neck with @A-Jay, @gimruis, @MN Fisher, and others. To catch a bass, we need perfect conditions.*

Ya - we still have two little issues here, Katie.

#2 - bass season doesn't open until mid-May.
