Morning started slow.  Went over an hour without a bite fishing outside weedlines and steep drops.  Got into a big cove with lots of fish suspended at 10-15.  Tossed a deep crank and it was lights out for a half hour or so.  At one point,  I caught 5 on 6 casts.  Probably around 10 or 12, all around 2#.  Moved up lake and worked a rocky point.  Got a couple decent on a Magnum Rage Bug on a swing jig.  Then this one hit and didn't move.  Thought I set the hook on the rocks.  Once she took off it was a good fight.  New PB at 7.5.

Fish #7 between last night and this morning, and the only one with any size to speak of (not much at that!) On a white/shad color spinnerbait from Walmart, turns out they do work, pinned this guy perfectly in the upper lip, he wasn't going anywhere.

Challenging morning.  Got a few dinks on a buzzbait early and then struggled for a couple hours.  Nothing on wood, points, or outside weed lines.  Ended up chasing bait, which I generally find to be a fools errand.  But that was the only thing working.  Most were under two pounds, but I did manage a 6.7 on a deep crank.

Hard to follow up Choporoz! Lol

I got a 3.8ish at ol muddy pond along with some smaller fish recently. Fishing has been slower; I discovered that there is an otter family at the pond. Again fish on the mag 2 worm.

Nice @LrgmouthShad!  I always get concerned when I see otters.

Thank ya. First encounter with otters. I am not happy. There are four of them. Compared to last year, size of fish is a little worse this summer and catching more smaller ones. Seems like less bluegill as well. I wonder if otters are the culprit. Not good

I've been doing well lately with a bait usually reserved for the colder months. The vegetation is down in most of the ponds I fish from recent treatments so it lets me put moving baits back into the rotation. @Team9nine got me onto this a few years ago, a small Johnson Thinfisher with upsized hooks. Lots of fun to fish and very effective. I also use the 1/4 oz. version as well.

What a pig! Nice job  and congratulations man, not too many ways (excluding topwater) to me that are more fun to catch them on than cranking

Had our lake boat parade tonight , and when it was over I stayed out and they weren’t biting. Thought I was about to get skunked , but got this one last minute on a rage tail cut-r.

Went out for a quick solo trip. Slick calm early so it was time for a popper.

Wind picked up a bit, time to walk...

Picked up more, time for a spinnerbait...

Warmed up and they moved deeper, time for a deep crank...

Taking a break from some early morning action. Only two bass so far, but the first one was the right one. Bit under a tree on a Strike King 3/8 oz Banshee Spinnerbait in Bluegill.

Every time I wear this shirt fishing good things seem to happen. I started wearing it a lot because it's light weight and cool, very breathable. I think it will become THE fishing shirt.

Also, this is the first time the new Max X reels have felt like $50. It definitely did not feel sturdy during this short fight, but it got the job done. I'm still impressed. Knowing what it is, you can't complain.

Also also, I'm getting fat as hell.
