Super User NYWayfarer Posted July 27, 2021 Super User Posted July 27, 2021 I usually carry 3 combos with me bank fishing. They are rigged with my confidence baits. Lately I have added a 4th combo rigged with whatever bait I want to try that day. This morning it was the Zman Chatterbait Flashback mini bladed jig. It was the most productive bait today for my target species, Smallmouth Bass. 15 Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 Last night was windless, cloudless, and insect-less. A blaring moon lit the place up like daytime, and I got a spanking. Tonight we had some wind, and full cloud cover, but the mosquitoes were on a rampage. Nothing will stop them from getting through other than a thick wool hat and heavy sweat jacket, and sweat I did. Soaked through, but I kept my blood, so it was worth it. It was still a tough bite though, but right toward the end we found a few good ones. Mine came dragging an ECO Pro Tungsten swing head jig with a 7" BPS worm, and my buddy got his on a Spro Rat 50. 18 1 Quote

Air quality warning on and the bite was off. Short strikes on a lot of stuff. Caught a few dinks and it seemed like the night was going to be a bust. Then I switched to the good ol Cavitron buzz bait and the fun was on. 3ish pounder, a 3-7 that fought like he was a 5+, and another 3 to finish the night. A couple low to mid 2s in between to put together my best bag ever. 13-14 pounds. Ended up with 11 fish in about hour and 45 minutes. I'll take that any night. That's a good outing! Man, that corn looks good. Ain't no corn around Houston. I miss that! Quote
TriStateBassin106 Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Another good weekend of lake fishing. Caught a 2.4lber on a jackhammer sunday morning and the evening before the bite was on fire, caught 3 back to back out of 7 bass while fishing a section of low hanging trees and docks. Ended the weekend sunday afternoon flipping a powerbait power worm around docks and bagged two nice size Largemouth. 12 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 Scored a topwater Brown Bass yesterday ~ This bite should start picking up here the next couple of weeks A-Jay 20 Quote
ThrowinPlugs Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 In and out fishin mission, 10 bass 1 hour. Largest was a 2.85 lber on my new scale (finally picked one up) good quick trip, oh except for the part where I bent a fin mast on my hobie drive, ugh. 12 Quote
Super User deep Posted July 29, 2021 Super User Posted July 29, 2021 Didn't fish for almost a month! Sometimes I get lazy, and sometimes there's too much real/ non-fishing stuff to take care of. Walking a big wood rat in shade pockets on a hot sunny afternoon never gets old. The bites are vicious. Three bass all around this size (~18"); didn't take pictures of the other two. 15 1 Quote
HaydenS Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Here is a picture harvested off of @Bluebasser86's youtube video he kindly let me be apart of. I had a great time! Bought some fantastic baits from his company, C&C Custom baits, the flippin jig I got from him is my new favorite. Got two flippin jigs, a finesse jig, mini football jig, two wobble heads, two styles of tube hooks, and a bladed jig. Super high quality stuff. Made it out to lake an hour from my house today, with a new fishing buddy from our high school fishing team. We had some multi species action: Largemouth, smallies, channel cat, a little saugeye and a 17 1/2 incher, crappie, and drum. I caught a 4.70 and my buddy caught a 4.20, both LMB. Also caught a 7 inch smallie on a 10 inch worm, aggressive fish. My 4 pounder jumped 3 feet in the air, musta thought he was a smallie. He was caught on @Bluebasser86's wobblehead with a soft plastic on the end. I broke off the mini football jig on a fish, using too light of line, so expect an order. My 4.70 using C&C Custom Baits Wobble head: First Ever Lake Smallie. No long arming business in these photos... 17 Quote

Those swingheads are a great way to fish about any plastic in rocks and do so much better at avoiding snags than a T-rig. I never do anything fancy with my videos, but I got a vicious topwater strike on camera Saturday so I did what I could with my very limited abilities to make it even more dramatic. That Berkley Cane Walker is the real deal. 6 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 29, 2021 Global Moderator Posted July 29, 2021 This largemouth my buddy caught also bludgeoned a top water, it nearly splashed us on the hit. ‘Tis the season I suppose 15 Quote

Just sucked because I literally installed new masts a couple weeks ago haha. I have a spare set of re-bent ones now for JIC. Quote
Holetail Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Snagged this girl plus a dink on a fluke this AM on my way to work. Watched a Flukemaster video on how he fishes them last night and tried to emulate his technique which apparently works. Also wanted to try out my Bass X M/F with 10 lb fluoro which I think I like for this presentation. The rod has a faster tip than my Dobyns rods so twitching the bait felt easier. 10 Quote
NoShoes Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 With the help of quite a few on here, I got my first bass punching the other night! About 4.5 lbs, but Im hooked on punching now and have a dedicated setup coming in. Easily the most fun catch I’ve had in awhile. 14 Quote
gunsinger Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Got out for a couple of hours last night but was interrupted when a popup summer storm appeared replete with thunder and heavy lightning. I'd only caught one pounder at that time on a TR. I motored back the launch area figuring it probably wouldn't be wise to be waiving miniature lightning rods around in that weather. By the time I got there, the lightning had dissipated so I kept on fishing in the rain. Finally, after the rain let up, I snagged this 2 lb on the Tokyo Rig. 15 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted July 30, 2021 Super User Posted July 30, 2021 Couple of great Michigan largemouth. Can’t take credit for the first. Fishing with family and they handed me the rod when a live bluegill was attacked. The second I can take credit for and was caught on a 7” Gambler burner worm. 17 Quote
