And probably my finest catch, on a Deps SS 175 on Beaver Lake, AR. Yup, that’s more the size I saw lol. That last one had quite the appetite! 3 Quote

Luckily I have bassresource.com to get me through the day. They’ve been getting some 4-5 lb class ones. The little feller did pull hard though, might have to put down my medium rod and grab the bait casters, they are kicking my butt (although it’s fun ) Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted April 22, 2021 Super User Posted April 22, 2021 Gave another lake a shot over the weekend with the plan of finding a lot of quiet water... turned out this little lake was hosting two tourneys and I watched what seemed like an endless amount of boats blast off for a few minutes starting right at 600. By the time I was in the water all the best holes had multiple boats in them, so I just stayed on the TM and putzed around exploring new water. Good news was there was quite a bit of action with LM, SM, and spots mixed in... bad news is best of 'em was probably 2.5 pounds. Cool markings on this fella. 13 Quote
Biglittle8 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 After a lackluster day of fishing the Cape Fear River yesterday, today's fishing was hot. I stopped counting at 12 fish. All mostly in the 2 to 2.5lb range. Couple of good fish. Most of the fish hit a purple Senko rigged wacky style. My finesse gear got a workout today 12 Quote
HaydenS Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Wilson Lake high school tournament from two weekends ago, not sure why I never got around to posting anything. Water temps were low, from cold temps and cold rain the day before. It was also super windy and the lake was white capping. Water levels were about three feet low as well. A bunch of teams in the field of 47 didn't catch anything. My partner caught one fish on a strike king jig, off a brush pile under a dock. It weighed in at 3 pounds 49 ounces. He also broke one off. Our trolling motor stopped working so our boat captain ran the big motor while we fished. Without the trolling motor we couldn't fish slow or most of the spots we wanted to fish. It was a tough tournament but we managed 25/47. We learned a lot and are more than likely going to get a Garmin Force for the new trolling motor! My buddy caught the fish so he is holdin' it. 14 Quote

Super User king fisher Posted April 23, 2021 Super User Posted April 23, 2021 First time bass fishing in over a month. Work and a bum knee kept me sidelined for awhile. I fished Tepic lake. I landed my personal best bass for length 26 1/4 inches. Only problem was it only weighed in at 7.8 pounds. The bass was healthy, and fought hard, but unbelievably thin. Release went well, hopefully she will put on some weight. 16 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 23, 2021 Super User Posted April 23, 2021 Fish Grips are always a very good idea since they prevent drops. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over a small hole in the fleshy parts of the premaxillary process. They heal in about a weeks time. There's a risk of damaging the some of the cartilage though, so you really need to be careful there, even if you use Fish Grips. The best answer is avoiding it altogether but it is still WAY better than hooking them behind the gills, as I see much more frequently in pics of fish on the scale. Now you're messing with their breathing apparatus. 1 hour ago, king fisher said: Fish grippers are on the list of things to get when I go to the states next month. Biglittle8 Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Slow day to start, water was chocolate milk. Got a few nice blow ups on top water, one ok fish on a jerkbait. I decided to change tactics and went with a Lucky Craft lipless crankbait. Hit this nice fish! Unfortunately, my battery was dead in my scale... So.... I have no clue how much it weighed. I also could not find my tailors tape in my bag...oh well, put em back and try again. I was just about to call it a day because of rain...glad I stuck it out. 19 Quote
Surfcaster79 Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 A few fish I put the hammer down to today... even a crappie I take it, whatever that fish was, he was hungry!!! 12 Quote

CrankFate Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Had 3 follows (not chases) today. But the weird thing is there are hundreds of just free fry swimming around, so a lot of fish are all spawned out already. Which makes no sense. Quote

Mbirdsley Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Bunch of rivers opened up on mid-Michigan due to the walleye spawn. Hit the Saginaw river, it was packed. I was hoping to catch some smallies and maybe a bonus walleye for dinner. Weather was kinda crappy got rained on 4 times. Caught a bunch of sheap head abd 2 small large mouth. Sheap head are fun to catch but, not what I was looking for. River is loaded with them. One came on a brush jig rest came on a dt-10 girlfriend 14 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted April 25, 2021 Super User Posted April 25, 2021 Randomly had a school of shad roam or get pushed into the cove we were working and the bass were just wrecking them. Made for a fun couple hours until we had to call it a morning. Trout were rubbing elbows with the bass. Pops with his best one of the day. 20 Quote
