Isn’t Basically the whole south shore of Lake Erie good for bass this time of year. Somebody did a bass show from like the Erie area. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted May 3, 2020 Super User Posted May 3, 2020 Been a while... things have been crazy at work the past couple months and one of my girls asked me if I'd like to take a break out on the lake. Obviously couldn't turn that down and as luck would have it that day (4/3) was the last day any of our semi-local lakes were open. 19 Quote
lo n slo Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 i caught 23 spots today despite the blue bird skies. she ain’t no giant and looks to be spawned out, but i’ll take it. 13 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted May 3, 2020 Super User Posted May 3, 2020 Finally got back out today after the re-carpet break. What a difference a week makes in water temps. The last day I fished this lake was on 4-24 and the water was 64-67, today it was 74 when I got there at 7 am and 78 when I left at 3:00. Only found the small ones today with this 3-03 being the biggest. 11 Quote
Ogandrews Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Awesome pictures everyone. It is absolutely killing me that the Minnesota season isn’t open yet. 5 days 1 hour and 36 mins and I will finally be able to legally fish for pike bass and walleye again. Still have to wait a month after that to start musky fishing but I’ll be able to distract myself with pike and bass until then. These 5 days before opener are always the longest days of the year for me, can’t wait until Saturday. 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 4, 2020 Global Moderator Posted May 4, 2020 Got a nice SMB on a sassy Shad type bait and saw a pair of eagles flying around together 16 Quote
Ksam1234 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Another beautiful brown bass, the fishing was amazing today but the crazy winds got us off the water after about 5 hours , was hoping to be a sunup to sundown kinda day.. and now the weather went from 70 and sunny to a freeze warning and potential snow.. I dont understand What is going on with 2020 .. I wish it would just be normal .. starting to get discouraged that it won’t ever end. 16 Quote
zero357 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Caught this little guy a few days ago on a 6 "Morning Dawn Roboworm. Huge right? ? 9 Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted May 5, 2020 Super User Posted May 5, 2020 I got one last swing at them before the season closed. This girl hit at the end of the farthest cast I could make down the bank just outside of a pad field. Just a few whopty plops of the Whopper Plopper 75's prop and she crushed it. Huge head shakes the entire way in. Spent some time holding her while pushing water through her gills until she started kicking hard, then off she went with a bolt. Walleye season started off with a bang. That'll have to keep me going during the LM spawn. 11 Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Came on a full blown shad spawn on a prework morning outing. Was disappointed by the lack of feeding by predatory fish, but the ones I caught looked like they got there moneys worth at the buffet. 12 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted May 6, 2020 Super User Posted May 6, 2020 One of the local lakes finally reopened and I was able to get in a quick trip with my daughter. Temp 66* and a full moon knocking on the door, but it was quiet with very little activity up shallow or in the spawning flats. Hopefully I can get out again soon and get one of the big girls. Instinctively longarming like a well-seasoned veteran. 11 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 6, 2020 Global Moderator Posted May 6, 2020 Made a quick little morning trip after work yesterday. I'd heard fish were bedding on this lake and guys were sight fishing. Probably were the day before when it hadn't rained almost an inch but I couldn't see more than a foot down so I was just fishing. It was still fun with 8 bass and 4 crappie including my first swimbait fish from this lake and first Slammer fish of the year. 12 Quote
