Been fishing from sunup to sundown. Nice spot, way to stick with it!! Those things are like tuna, just roaming open water chasing baitfish. Well my two fishing partners both caught the biggest fish of their lives tonight after work. The largemouth was 21” with a good belly and the smallmouth was 20.25”. I caught a mere 18”........ the current is raging and the fish were caught with Texas rigs. They used worms I used the menace. Water temp around 72. Great evening on the TN river 11 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted June 27, 2019 Super User Posted June 27, 2019 I hope you are not in California, yesterday I saw a guy fishing for bluegill so I said are you gonna use bluegill for bait (I saw a few more bass/catfish gears plus a basket for keeping fish). He stopped after I told him it is illegal here, but once I left he went back for bluegill again. Quote
keagbassr Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Got out today for about 6 hrs. Only got six,3 on spinnerbait,1 on a buzzbait and 2 punching a gambler crawdaddy with this one weighing 4-1. 17 Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Might be my last day to fish until August and it was a good one. Caught a ton on a jig and a Squarebill. Weights of the best 8 are pictured. Best 5 went 20.19, biggest was 5.42. 18 Quote

Super User deep Posted June 28, 2019 Super User Posted June 28, 2019 Stingiest reservoir ever gave up 8 today; I don't think I've ever hooked more than 3 there on any one outing before today!! Also caught this weird looking baby (~10 inches) catfish pitching plastics. Not sure what kind of catfish though. 11 Quote

lo n slo Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 me and my cousin caught a few this morning in the little johnny before the heat ran us off the water. he had big fish with a 3.7 spot and i managed to land a 2.8. 14 spots and no largemouth again today. 14 Quote
SlappinKraken Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Had a great day in Indiana. Frog, 1oz punch, and chatterbait caught about 15 fish over 3 pounds. Found a spot the size of a kitchen table that held 8 in the 4 to 5.3 pound range and bit on almost every cast with the chatterbait. 22 Quote
928JLH Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Finally took a Saturday off and went fishing. What an awesome day. Overcast and a little over 100. Used a 6th Sense Lipless in the deep grass. Caught dozens of little stripers on topwater too. Side note make sure hooks are sharp and not worn out. Dumped my biggest largie of the day on a Sammy with pretty dull hooks. 12 Quote
lo n slo Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 i left the dock at 6 this morning in the little johnny and caught a dozen before leaving around 10. this is the first largemouth i’ve caught in a few weeks. ain’t she pretty? 14 Quote

That is no small fish. When they breach 4lbs, that's when they start getting some nice bulk to them. A bass over 4 lbs is a great fish. I know I was tickled when I caught that 4.50 of mine 2 weeks ago. 7 Quote
Super User deep Posted July 3, 2019 Super User Posted July 3, 2019 I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone, driving further, and fishing some new(ish) reservoirs lately. It isn't usually much fun fishing in the midday sun, but the heat and humidity seem to keep most people off the water, and I sure like that (these are all small electric only lakes, no jetskis etc). I caught 6 small ones yesterday and a couple quick releases. Not complaining though, buddy and I fish these places once in a while, and have a lot less luck. Guess I fish more thoroughly when I am on my own. Highlight of the day was a channel catfish I caught on a rage baby menace on a jighead. Set the hook and knew it was a good fish, but then it came up near the surface and I saw what it was. Then it kept digging and digging until it won't come up for like a minute or so. Finally landed the fish. It was a good fight on a 3 power Conquest/ Curado 71/ 12# Tatsu. Forgot to measure or weigh it, but it was around 20 inches. 17 Quote
keagbassr Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Got out today for a quick 3 hr. After work trip 330-630. Only got one on a buzzbait that weighed 4-2 19 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted July 4, 2019 Super User Posted July 4, 2019 Was on the water at crack of dawn this morning. Figured they’d bite ‘cause we had a hard rain yesterday evening and it cooled things down some and provided some much needed oxygen to the water. Water level is way down around here. Started out with a frog and buzzbait. Nothing on the bb, but I got one nice fish on the frog. Also caught some on the 5 inch dinger in Watermelon red around eel grass edges . Caught most of the rest of the fish with various zoom flukes. Could not get the big fish to bite, but most of them were quality fish up to 3 pounds. Ended up with 21. 18 Quote
