Arobb2012 Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 I finally was able to hit a local river. Caught 3 smallies 2 on a bps bomb craw and 1 one a rage menace grub. 10 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted June 10, 2019 Super User Posted June 10, 2019 Back on the water and back on the forums after a few months. Due to life’s craziness I hadn’t been able to do either as much as I would like. But the hectic schedule has opened a little bit and I should be able to get out a lot this year. Did pretty well on my first trip of the year. No lunkers, but a decent average size and I caught em all day. Most fish were caught super shallow. Got the best fish on a weedless frog. 13 Quote
boostr Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 1st time out on the boat this year. Caught me a couple of Lmbs on one of Sieberts 3/8 double willow spinner baits in Bluegill And no, I didn't hook the gills. That came from the soft cheek tissue. And yeah, the wife thinks she's funny... Wasn't laughing after I pushed her off the boat... I keed, just joke yes... 11 1 Quote
Glaucus Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Fattest LMB I've caught on this river since a 6 pounder in April 2013. Coincidentally only about 20 yards away from where that 6 pounder came from 6 years ago. I've caught quite a few longer LMB here since then, but not nearly as fat. I wish the photos did the gut justice. Hanging out where the Smallies like to be... Species traitor 13 Quote
Russ E Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 My outboard broke down a week ago. With the flooded reservoirs ,all of the boat repair shops are booked. Cabelas can finally get it in tomorrow, hopefully it is a simple repair. Instead of sitting around waiting for my boat, I decided to walk the bank of the local lake. caught a mixed bag of Largemomouth and Smallmouth. All on a Neko rig. this was by far the largest. It weighed 4lb. 4oz. One of the largest I have caught from the bank of this lake. 15 Quote

Just wish our creeks would get wadeable here in central IN. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 12, 2019 Global Moderator Posted June 12, 2019 Been gone for a minute, on a much needed family vacation at Table Rock this past Friday-Monday. Thursday before we left I took a friend and his friend to a lake that usually doesn't treat me well. It's where he wanted to go though, so that's where we went. It was much nicer to me than it has been in my past trips. They were smashing Pepe the Slammer and a @Munkin swim jig for me and my bladed jigs for the guys. Table Rock was a blast, although I think the fish were very much in transition and probably feeling the effects of having almost 2 straight weeks of being pounded on by MLF pros to go along with all the regular pressure that lake gets. I still managed to catch my fair share and put my dad, my wife, and Lake on some fish as well. Even Finn got to meet a Table Rock bass during his first ever ride in my boat. Most of my fish were on a Duo Realis Rozante, shakyhead, or video fishing with a dropshot. Even I impressed myself with that last one. I usually find a bunch of baits at Table Rock, but I only found one this time, a River2Sea Rover. It was floating about 20' off a shoreline and still attached to a 7' MH BPS Carbonlite and Abu Revo SX. Couldn't have been there long, reel seemed to still be functioning well. Took it apart when we got home so I can let it dry and clean it. 15 Quote
BurrStone Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Got up to Washington County, Maine for bass fishing on Grand Falls Flowage. Still in late stage of pre-spawn up there. First sunny stretch of days they'd seen all spring. So we got lucky. Mostly used weightless t-rigged senkos (submerged stumps everywhere). Caught my biggest bass on a tiny Keitech swimbait, t-rigged. Got mauled by black flies the whole time. 11 Quote
MossyBackDaddy Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Went out this morning to a private pond and it was a good day landed about 8 or 9. Used the Live Target Field Mouse for the very first time (any mouse lure for that matter) and let me tell you that thing gets bit! All fish were from 1-2.5 pounds. One that got off felt like he was about 3-4 pounds. This guy was caught on the BPS senko which he choked. Funny thing is this one and another one were caught using the senko and a weedless finesse hook but when I went to remove the hook saw that the weedless wire was still engaged. Anybody else ever had that happen to them? Like I said the LMB bite has been fire for me but the SMB bite has been pathetic. 12 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted June 13, 2019 Super User Posted June 13, 2019 Thanks - While nothing's guaranteed, I feel like if I can make it through the months of -30 temps - fishing in 40 degree stuff is a piece of cake. Besides the rewards can be memorable. #notforeveryone A-Jay 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted June 13, 2019 Global Moderator Posted June 13, 2019 Got a 19" about 3.25 lbs and a 21.5" a little over 4 lbs. Been experimenting with a cheap spring scale, good evening to have it. Surprisingly accurate 18 Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted June 13, 2019 Super User Posted June 13, 2019 Twice this guy missed my buzz bait, so I pitch a senko in there and he smoked it. When I got him to the boat, I discovered why he missed the buzz bait. His face was so mangled, these photos don’t do it justice. My hook is just visible in what’s left of his upper lip. I’m sure he’ll live to fight another day... 13 Quote
Derek1 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Rained hard all day. Let up just In time for my ride home. So I stopped for a half hour and caught this one and two big pickerel. Skinny belly just spawned out I think. 13 Quote

hawgenvy Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Went bank fishing tonight with my friend Mike. The Florida summer pattern was in full swing with fish widely scattered and mostly in deeper areas. We caught a few, including this healthy 4 1/2 pounder that inhaled my Gambler 13" black ribbon-tail worm. She pulled so hard I thought I was battling a 10 pounder, but in the end I wasn't disappointed when this robust specimen emerged. 14 Quote
