starkeer Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I was having a slow morning, just 3 or 4 smaller fish, when all that got turned around by this 5lb 7oz fish. I am really hoping this is a sign of things to come as the fall bite heats up hear in Minnesota. Caught on 1/2oz white/charteuse spinnerbait with a 3.75 Rage Swimmer trailer. Also, I am trying to stop long-arming everything but it was seared into my brain by my dad when I was a kid and its a hard habit to kick haha 20 Quote

Started out with my usual spinnerbait but caught nothing. Tried a crankbait, swimbait and back to a spinner again with no luck. Pulled a bladed jig out of my tackle box and gave it a shot. That made all the difference. They loved the Z-Man chatterbait with a Rage Craw on the back. Caught 12 before the wind pushed me of the lake. Hopefully the weekend will be calmer. I'm still 0-fer lifetime with chatterbait..... And I have been throwing it constantly 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted September 30, 2018 Super User Posted September 30, 2018 Caught 29 bass, 23 of which were keepers, all from a single anchored casting position this afternoon. Heck of a school for Indiana waters - don't happen often around here. Buck would be proud Here's a few... 20 Quote
LonnieP Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 The bass were tearing the Rattle Trap up today. Here’s 2 of the biggest of the day. 17 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted October 1, 2018 Super User Posted October 1, 2018 Had a nice afternoon with near perfect weather. Slightly cooler and less humid. I started out with the ruby sparkle baby brush hog and caught 5-6 , on the east side of our island. Got out past it and switched to the watermelon seed fluke, and caught 8-10 more around eel grass edges.. Caught several on a ribbon tail worm, especially reeling across the top of and around eel grass. And 1 on a zoom z-hog. They were biting real good. Ended up with 19. No big fish, but the avg size was 2 pounds, got several around 3. Caught 3 on consecutive casts. The bite today was fall-like, but the weather isnt quite there yet. 15 Quote
redmexican5081 Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Had my first really good topwater day for the year. Caught about 25 bass, biggest 3 all went around 15", a handful of pickerel, and one crappie who thought my $1 Walmart bargain bin Creme topwater stickbait in Walk the Shad color looked too appetizing to pass up. Tacklebox lid is ~16" 11 Quote
ohboyitsrobby Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 I'm pretty sure this is the biggest brownie I've caught all year. Haven't been fishing the creek as much. 12 Quote
Janderson45 Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Fished my first tournament in the new boat this past weekend on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Didn't catch any lunkers but did land a whole bunch of healthy smallies. Here's a picture from each of the 3 days I fished: -Practice day, turned out to be my best bag naturally: Day 1 weigh in: Day 2 weigh in (yes I'm wearing the same outfit) : Caught them as shallow as 2' and as deep as 50', very interesting! The majority of the ~50 or so smallies I landed over 3 days were caught in 40-50' of water still. Only two of them broke 3lbs and they were both in practice (of course!) 13 Quote
keagbassr Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Got out today again in the rain/drizzle. Boated 9 3 on spinnerbaits and 6 on a black buzzbait with 3 good ones in the mix that weighed 5-I, 4-2,(pictured)and 3-9. 14 Quote

I tried Terro and it killed all the ants. I was spraying the boat with Raid Ant Killer for months and they keep coming back. Just a one ounce bottle of that Terro did the trick. Haven't seen an ant in my boat since. Quote

I think I had to use 3-4 oz at my house. When theres ants on my food I just eat them........ My girlfriend didn't really see it that way so I had to take action 2 Quote

Texicans Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I started working from home about three weeks ago and manage my day as needed. I decided I wanted to fish more and hone my skills to pass on to my 4yr old. My first LMB on a new combo I purchased last week. Small public pond in Richardson, TX. No secret. There's usually 1-2 guys casting during the lunch hour. Green Pumpkin trick work on a Texas rig. Sunny day with a good South breeze. 14 Quote
