We definitely have our work cut out for us at Lay Lake. Fished from 6am to 2pm (storms pushed us off the lake early) and caught 6 bass, all between 11 and 11:30. Managed to catch every non-bass critter out there too. Changing it up tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. Have been hearing it is tough fishing right now.

Finally, Finally got the boat back after breaking the axle in the beginning of May.  Took the boat to our favorite lake, Shasta.  Were not on the water too long since someone (me) forgot the key to the boat at home.  We got about 3 hours on the lake.  A lot of dinks starting to get active but we did find some quality fish throughout the day.  Once again Jamie out caught me 12 - 7, but i did have the better size, so thats something.  Biggest was 16 1/2 inch spot that fought really well.

One of Jamie's better fish, right about 15 inches

Largest was 4lbs15oz, caught using a floating jerkbait I found. Last year I caught a 4lber almost every trip just beating the banks at this pond. This year I've only caught one shallow. I've been finding better quality bass in the mid depth sections (6-8ft) with weeds coming up about half way.

:D... the pattern is real. Jerkbait and square bill crankbait again. 5lb4oz and 4lb1oz. The 5lber had the best fight out of any bass I've caught.

Every 4th time I tie on a new horny toad, a gar immediately rips its legs off.

Here's a 3.77 lb. smallmouth that ate a Finesse TRD on a 3/32 oz. Ned (mushroom) jig head worked slowly at a depth of approximately 20'.

Mixed in amongst a bunch of "dinkos" (dinks-on-a-Senko), a couple of fat ones 18" and 17" this morning bright and early. On a KVD 2.5 and a...Senko:

found a couple little spotted bass that were willing to bite on saturday night.  black buzzbait and a berkley 10" black grape power worm were the baits.  had a few more blowups on the buzzbait, but only managed to hook and land the one.

here's one of them, picture of the other one didn't turn out very well in the dark!

Tough day at Wohlford Lake.  Almost got skunked but landed a nice little guy here:

Then a few hours after that one I was about to give up but went to drop shotting a Roboworm and caught this 5lber!

Mid/late day water here in Southwestern TN is approaching bath water temps, so I'm struggling with my usual preferred crankbaits and forced to move to Senkos. Needless to say, I'm ready for late Summer/early Fall to get these water temps back down.

Caught this one Monday(plus a few others)on a watermelon Senko, and is the largest I've caught in about three weeks(previous was 3.02 on a squarebill in light rain). He was fun to bring in though, I was watching a school(3-5' in diameter) of shad/minnow moving around right in this "narrow" cut and I kept tossing the Senko all around and inside the school.

Finally got that familiar bump and run and set the hook. Jumped out of the water a couple times for dramatic effect, but I had him hooked squarely in the corner of his mouth, so he had no chance of getting off. 2+, 2.5 if I'm being generous.

As I alluded to earlier, I don't often fish with Senkos(or plastics in general) often, but it's been fun to catch them on my med/fast spinning setup with the drag dialed down a bit. If the size isn't there, then I might as well make it a fun fight.

Thanks for reading my rambling. :)

Family night bridge fishing. The wife actually set the hook started reeling saw how big it was and panicked, handed it to my son. He couldn't reel very much so he handed it to me. I finally was able to land it after a decent fight. A new PB 3lb 3oz. It was a good night.IMG_0738.jpg

True, fairly easy to figure out. You're good if you can tell me what bridge. Lol
